No email for me but shipping dropped from almost $300 down to $170. I do have mats coming and order total was about $900. I guess I'll take the new shipping with a grain of salt until I hear anything official.

Catalyst Game Labs Demo Team / Using a Home Grinder with Friends
« Last post by finolpal on Today at 04:05:17 »
For the 8 of us who are getting together, I was hoping to be the Grinder runner.  The Grinder seemed like a perfect, easy way to bring Battletech back into the spotlight, so I decided to make it.  Can I get the player card digitally?

This site is not what I was expecting, but I am familiar with it.  It would be nice if there were examples of mechs for each color.  It would be helpful to have more information about the mech's weight class, technology, and BV depending on whether it's purple or red.

It appeared like a straightforward deck of cards for initiative, and I had a blast playing it at GenCon.  Here are the dice: white denotes walk, black denotes run, and red denotes jump.  From what I can tell from the reference card, that is now the gold standard, though I have used different callers. I had different hues in mind.  While the link itself was useful, many pieces of information that would allow users to introduce others to it are missing.  The Grinder is a great tool for players to use when introducing others to Battletech.  Providing more details and being transparent with the community would be beneficial.   Thanks to the fantastic Catalyst staff, who hosted fantastic Battletech games at GenCon, I had a blast.  Being an ambassador for Battletech is something that every player is capable of, so maybe the Demo team can impart more of their boundless knowledge or pass it on to the Catalyst team so that you may impart it.

Thank you ahead of time.

I dunno, during the Jihad STL did refuse to join the coalition and thus was a result arguably "lost the peace" by not having any influence with the nascient ROTS.

I wouldn't say that Sun-Tzu "lost the peace". Thanks to him NOT getting in bed with Stone like everyone else, he was able to stockpile war material a lot easier, and we saw the dividends that ended up paying. From the Capellan perspective, for a multitude of reasons, Sun-Tzu made absolutely the correct choice not to suborn himself to Stone. And ultimately it did indeed pay off: the CCAF was made stronger than ever (and kept sharp thanks to their conflicts with the Republic), all of the lost Capellan worlds (and other worlds besides) were restored to the CapCon, and the Republic itself is now a footnote in history. Sun-Tzu definitely had the last laugh.

Yeah, there has been no official new communication at all, just the (possibly incorrect) charges posting.  I suspect they are trying to iron out bugs before sending out an announcement.
6
Maybe.

Could also be the difference between Lucy (as the Honest Trailers put it, a Speech Specialist who dump-statted Charisma) and Maximus when compared to any of the game protagonists.

Gonna have to disagree there. Sun-Tzu being a shrewd politician and him being unable to defeat the Republic are not mutually exclusive.

Yes.  It might have been the limitations of the game engine, but you were still generally safer there than how Filly was portrayed.

Honestly, I don't buy it. I don't think Filly would have been much different than the Den or Goodneighbor if it had been presented in a game rather than in a TV show.

I don't recall Sun-Tzu being thoroughly humbled by Stone.  Though I haven't read any of those books in about a decade.
