Are there any rules regarding the use of bodyguards in battletech? Imagine Colonel Jamie Wolf and Hans Vordel. So I was thinking when the bodyguard assumes his role as body guard during a turn, the bodyguard's mech is easier to hit so the opposing side would receive a benefit of 2 to target the bodyguard.
In exchange, the commander's mech would be assigned a +1 penalty to hit. There would be other considerations as well. The bodyguard benefit wouldn't work if the bodyguard is front of the commander but the firing unit is not in the front firing arc and maybe this special ploy could only be used three times in a game.
Bodyguard Commander
Base to Hit 4 4
Medium range 2 2
Target moved 5 hexes 2 2
Bodyguard -2 +1
Attacker Ran 2 2
Target number 8 11
Any comments?
