Once upon a time, I wanted to see if I could make the Cyrano cheaper...or at least, make it make sense. I ended up around 15 tons of chopper and can't find the file anymore.
*checks Sarna for original* Yikes. I'm all for rationalisation of chassis and engines, but at a single ton of FF, the pilots must have to avoid kicking the sides too hard when they climb in.
In 15t, if you use an XL engine (because Star League) & drop the speed a tick it's quite a bit cheaper:
15t, 11/17, LL, BAP, 3t FF (17/12/2/10)
Cost: 1,072,500 C-bills, BV: 478
Trying to preserve the speed and still keep some armour, I bulked up to 17t. It's still cheaper, but also worryingly flimsy on the rear:
17t, 12/18, LL, BAP, 2.5t FF (13/10/2/9)
Cost: 1,501,911 C-bills, BV: 509
But the sweet spot of a slimmed-down, armoured-up SFE
Cyrano is... 22 tons:
22t, 12/18, LL, BAP, 3t FF (17/12/2/10)
Cost: 1,184,444 C-bills; BV: 549
I like popping a Plasma Rifle on a 10/15 SFE chassis. Great tool for hunting vehicles, BA or infantry. A yellow & black II if you will. You can even ditch 1t of armour for a 2nd ton of ammo, if you bump the standard armour to HFF at that tech level you don't really lose any armour either.
Oh that's evil. #P is for Plasma that
burns down the whole town! >:D
