(Answered) Point Value discrepancy

Greetings all.
First post...and I did use the search function and came up blank.
Im curious about the point value differences. For example, as a kid I was a huge fan of the Longbow. (When they were using the destroid design)

But I noticed that they have wildly differing point values that to me, dont make sense.
Example:
The Longbow LGB-8V is 59 points (the most expensive version)
It has damage of 2/2/1, special abilities and an OV value of 1.

The Longbow LGB-14C is 44 points.
its damage is 4/4/3, adn OV od 1 and SIX specials.

At 15 less points why would you EVER take the 8V?

Or...the LGB 12-C. Its 52 points...but has damage of 4/6/6!!

Please help me understand?

The LGB-8V has two Artillery attacks (ARTAIS-2) that are not included in its damage values but are separate attacks.

Gotcha.
Still seems weak. The 2 attacks would effectively give you 4/4/2 damage...vs 4/4/3 damage and 5 other specials.

ARTAIS does 2 damage, so two of them would be 4 damage.  Plus it can attack with its base damage for another 1.  5 total at long range.
ARTAIS also in an area effect so it can hit multiple targets.
ARTAIS also ignores target movement modifiers for most units.

But if you don't like, don't use it.  The LGB-14C and 12C are also excellent units.  Go Longbows!

Just not understanding it. I dont have my book with me as Im at work but Ill double check the specials again.
