Interesting, I see you are planning on your Arty Units being in limited direct combat with twin LPPC?

I can't remember whether C3 offers any advantage for artillery. Or is this a cunning way to keep the C3 Master out of harm's way? What do you envisage the linked C3 Slaves being carried by?

(I can see the fairly heavy armour and twin LPPCs potentially making life uncomfortable for light mechs who get sent off to stop the rain of shells, too. Do the LPPCs also offer an air defence role?)
"That's Lieutenant Faceplant to you, Corporal!"

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

"Hmm, I wonder if I can turn this into a MM map."

@DOC_Agren: Yeah, I absolute prefer my Artillery units to avoid as much direct-combat as possible, but don't like them be completely defenseless either.

@Simon Landmine: I'd seen other Artillery units with C3 systems and thought this might be a good one to house a C3 Master too. I imagine it could/would be tied into some type of fast spotter unit in some way. I don't know if the LPPCs are any use in an air-defense role, but combined with the thick skin it has they might help "discourage" lights looking for an easy kill with an "helpless" artillery unit.

This is a big, fat, slow expensive unit that the vast majority of the time is just a sniper artillery piece on tracks.

C3M does not benefit this unit at all, although it is also a big expensive lump of tech and I can see the temptation to put it well out of harms way I think putting it on a slow, poorly armed crawler might be a false economy

Guardian ECM offers little so far away from the battlefield - and is pretty expensive

The 2xLPPC do offer a slight discouragement to tanks and asf looking for an easy kill but they're not going to discourage much.

Personally I would be much more inclined to split this vehicle into 3,
a 50T tracked FCE could move 5/8 and carry a Sniper and 30 rounds - speed being a great strategic asset for getting the gun where it's needed or away from threats

a similar mid weight, 5/8,  tank as an escort - an off the shelf myrmidon would do just fine giving a PPC and also an SRM for dealing with infantry (infernos)

Fit the C3M in an on field support element like an LRM boat that can actually benefit from it.  It will also make it much harder for an enemy ECM unit to get between Master and Slave
