(Answered) vehicle superchargers
« on: 21 February 2011, 15:52:45 »
The supercharger for vehicle rules have me a bit confused.
TO says this on page 345:
"For non-'Mechs, these critical hits apply first to the motive systems and then (after the unit is immobilized in such a fashion) transfer
inward to the engine itself, destroying the engine immediately on the first hit."
What does that mean exactly?
The vehicle critical hit table in TW on page 194 has no motive systems critical hits.
Motive system hits are rolled seperately from normal crits on the motive damage table.

Greetings,

If the Supercharger fails, you roll on the Critical Hit table to determine how many crits are assigned. Then apply them.

Now, look at the Vehicle Record Sheet. There are three boxes for motive system crits and one box for Engine. If the Supercharger fails, mark off on of the Motive System boxes. Only when these three boxes are filled would the Engine be damaged.

I hope that clears up the confusion.

Best,

What about VTOLs?

Use the Flight Stabilizer. It is far easy to destroy a VTOL engine.
