Since they don't know where the jeep they're chasing is going, shortcuts aren't exactly a thing. Aisde from that, the locals are likely to stick together, at least as much to keep eyes on each other as any other reason. Succession is a big deal, and at least three of the infantry types have families back there. Everyone is nervous.I wasn't talking shortcuts... I was talking about being familiar with the Jeeps and how they handle. You can push the vehicle more if you know it's advantages and disadvantages.
I'm still a fan of that long shot from the most recent Mad Max of the lone vehicle running from a bunch of others toward a sand storm... ^-^

Indeed! I don't think Smoke has done a rotation at the OLF yet, but that's coming... it's going to take all the 'mechs with two hands to move that landing craft... ^-^u think this is the 1st stuck/broke vehicle I have had to move?
There used to be a recovery vehicle at the OLF, but it wasn't there when the Wolf Skinners found the place.
Master Truck has the "Heavy Hauler" SPA ("Heavy Lifter", but for vehicles). He'll figure it out eventually.

Ones older SL-tech, the other cobbled together DC-tech.
Both have same weapons, just different electronics.
As it was the -8Z had it's Tronel LL replaced by the Lords Light PPC when redesigned. All -8Zs got upgraded.
So, fluff wise, it could be an ancient -8Z more so than a -9R.

The more I think about it, I think Ramjet would sleep in his 'Mech, as it already has AC. Also to free up some room for the others.sometime it important to find a flat place to camp out, instead sleeping in a chair. :shocked:
A quick note on remote sensors: AToW page 305 lists all the kinds of sensors there are. Acoustic isn't one of them, but maybe that's what "Motion" sensors are.

For clarity, that's a hard "no" on changing quirks on the Panther, a soft "yes" on swapping the SRM-4 for Lasers, and a "are you crazy?" on disengaging the Field Inhibitor.
Yes, 2d6 rolls, based on your Career/Engineer skill with all factors already accounted for.
That means the Engineering work for removing the Ammo Bin takes 20 minutes.

MOS 2 for the SRM-4 Removal: 100 minutes
MOS 1 for the first Laser: 110 minutes
and MOS 2 for the second, +1 for the previous roll: 90 minutes
With the 20 minutes for the ammo bin removal, that's 330 minutes of Engineering work overall. Not bad!

No, but it's simple enough. Take a stock PNT-9R, pull the SRM-4 and ammo, put 2 Medium Lasers where the SRM-4 was (CT), and a heat sink where the ammo was (LT).any chance that can be
drawn on scraps of paper in a notebook... think back to how we old timers used to mod our mech..
So you see if we pull the SRM4 we can slap in 2 ML and maybe a 3 or like a flamer or maybe a heat sink, then there no chance an unlucky shot cause the ammo bin to go BOOM. So what do you think?

Overview
The Panther is one of the BattleMechs that is most iconic of the Draconis Combine. The design was originally commissioned in 2739 at the behest of the Star League to provide fire support for other light, fast-moving 'Mech units, with the first models going to the SLDF to fight bandits along the Periphery border.
Wolf Skinner's has such a model, with some modification, the Panther retains it's PPC, while two medium lasers and a Famer are added.
Flamer is mounted on the left torso. While the Medium Lasers are mounted in the former SRM-4 launcher's missile bay.

Reworked due being stranded on pirate world of Astrokaszy, the Wolf Skinner's Tech Smoke, reworked the Mech with anti-infantry.
