Its not the time . . . its getting the pieces to solidly hold since I do not pin.

That's my point, too. When the pieces don't hold well, it takes me longer to build a piece. All the new sculpts I've bought have gone together quickly, unlike some older pieces I could name.

Anyway, as for the Shad, I had a meeting with the Military Appropriations Committee (i.e. my wallet) and with any luck, on Saturday two shiny new SHD-2Hs will be waiting for me at The War House  :)
Just got mine in the mail yesterday! Assembling it tonight. Now to decide which formerly all unseen unit scheme I should paint it in... a company shall follow soon once the other classics come out.
At Comstar we listen. It's that simple.

Including drying time, I put my Orca together in about 30 minutes. I can't imagine smaller miniatures, made under the same standards, would take longer.

By the way, here's the Roadrunner in its blister...

Thanks ColBosch!!

Stinger - the Roadrunner looks great.

I now have this terrible urge to buy a Roadrunner RD-1R [20-5139] and paint it up in Looney Tunes Roadrunner colours. Also purchase a Rabid Coyote (Standard) [AR20-222] and paint it up in Wylie E Coyote colours . . .  >:D

This may sound like a dumb question (and it probably is  ;D ), but why is that?

Not dumb at all.

Molds are made with two halves, right? Well, if you want to get the leg decently cast, they usually go from left to right.  If the foot were part of the leg, then the mold would have to go in between the toes.  Because of that, when the two halves of the mold are pulled apart, the mold itself may rip, thus making a bad cast in the future.  To prevent tears we can separate the feet from the leg.

I actually had to do this for the Centurion Omni.  It was originally going to have one piece legs, but that had to be changed for molding purposes.

Okay, unlike a lot of people here I am loathe to tell IWM how to run thier shop....

THAT SAID  the Sprue that contains all of the guns for the Hound Mini needs to be in the scrapyard like NOW.  short Double barrled thing, long barreled thing and small missile box.  it is a Modders Dream!

I will admit, I liked the gun sprue from the Legionnaire . . . had an extra one rather than the exhaust/fist sprue- those Legionnaire K PPCs are going to look great on a Kurita PPC Catapult.

Now I just need to see about that Hound . . .

Stinger, I have to say when you showed the 3D image of the Hound, I was a little ... meh. But the mini in reality ... rocks!  O0 Great looking work!

I typically I have the same opinion looking at the 3D renders. I always wait to see it in metal form.

Yeah, the Hound turned out real nice. Scale looks perfect, too. Sweet!

OtoH-- Boy, is it just my eyes, or did the Gauntlet cast turn out really... rough??... :-\

Heavy mold line on the legs, and the nose looks like it's performed a charge attack. Hopefully it's not a recurring issue.

It's odd. Every other miniature in that thread looks flawless.

Its not recurring from what I can tell. I have looked at the 3 or 4 I have and one has a little mold line on the one leg.

Picked up the Hound from my FLGS, cleaned it up and I will be putting it together tonight while sitting with the baby.  I am surprised people are not clamoring for the Hound's weapon sprue . . . double barreled energy weapon, should mount AC and a SRM4 box rack . . .

Working on it, was not able to get much work done last week while I was off work. Going to work on it this coming week.
