First, let me preface this post with:

I have NEVER had issues with IWM Metals, until now, and I am confused beyond all hope.

I made an order back in April, and it was shipped on April 27 to me, here in Vancouver Canada.

I give you my Tracking for my order as it currently stands:

I'd bring that to someone's attention.  It was probably just a clerical error, but it doesn't hurt to make an inquiry.

Yeah, let Melissa know what happened there, that's not good.

...I hope you ordered Kurita gear though, at least.

Oh, I've sent them an email.

I honestly can't figure out why it is now going to Japan. I've make around 2 orders a year, so for the past 5 years I have had the same address info on file ???

And even their webpage shows Shipping to British Columbia Canada.

I am honestly confused beyond comprehension.

And laughing.

And not in anyway Mad at IWM. Just too, too funny

Nothing specifically Kurita though, no.

Last time I flew into Vancouver (which was a while ago), the flights from LA were just Boeing 737 which do not have much air mail capacity. You probably find that there is more international airmail capacity going from Japan and Singapore to Vancouver than from USA into Vancouver.

I have ordered BT stuff from a supplier in the US and it came to me here in Australia via Sweden (which is definitely the long and scenic route). It was being sent economy international air mail, so it all about where there is excess air mail capacity that the freight forward can get for cheap.
Incoming fire has the right of way.

The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.

OK, it is now in Singapore...WTF?!?!

And, no there is a ton of mail capacity on flights as there are so many flights going fro US to Canada, but in actuality, the International transfer point is Chicago/Toronto as there is where all my other packages have come.

Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
CHICAGO IL DISTRIBUTION CENTER

There's your problem. USPS Chicago doesn't, to use a technical term, give a ******. They're famously awful and nobody seems willing to fix them. There are few things I dread more than seeing that a package of mine was shipped USPS. My local delivery guy is fantastic, but first it has to get into his hands, and that's a total crapshoot.

Well...I heard back from IWM.

Seems, the web order guy accidently put it for a destination of Cambodia as opposed to Canada, when submitting it for Shipment.

It's actually going to Cambodia, apparently.
My web guy hit the wrong place on the drop-down menu (post office did the same thing, earlier this year.) We'll get your order redone and out ASAP...

probably not much based on their website:

Other International orders
Orders up to $50.00 - shipping and handling is $20.00
Orders from $50.01 to $100.00 - shipping and handling is $26.00
Orders from $100.01 to $150.00 - shipping and handling is $30.00
Orders from $150.01 to $200.00 - shipping and handling is $36.00
Orders from $200.01 to $250.00 - shipping and handling is $40.00
Orders from $250.01 and over - shipping and handling is FREE

My order was just over $200 to qualify for the free Shipping to Canada.

USPS Chicago.....us southerner had very bad experiences with that USPS center, especially as any IWM sending going our way HAVE to pass trough it.  :-\

Too funny, reminds me of years ago sending something to a friend in Jakarta, they never got it.  2 years and 3 addresses later it was returned to me. The envelope looked like it took a trip around the world...twice!

 ;D

Actually, it is because on every Country Drop Down menu, It goes:

Cambodia
Cameroon
Canada

as one can see by looking at the DESTINATION COUNTRY here for product shipping.

Oh well, still makes me chuckle at home as I think about it.

Yeah Neon, it is better to laugh at this rather than get mad, especially since the cause is known.

Heck if this story gets talked anout enough it might make its way into a sourcebook

Wow, that's quite a bit further afield than the time I ordered something from Amazon and it somehow got shipped to New Jersey (I live in Oregon).

Friend of mine lives a couple miles from an Amazon distribution center.  Everything he orders goes about a days travel the other direction before it comes back to him.

Yeah, it's still sitting there. I'm really hoping someone figures out it supposed to go Canada and fire it back to me.

But either it will languish in Cambodia, or likely be shipped back to IWM. And if it is, I'll fire them an email to ask/beg to send it back to me. I'll even repurchase the order (as IWM has already replaced it, so I did ultimately get my order).

My experience in trying to send things to that part of the world.  You are lucky it still exists.  Trying to send things to my mother in law in Northern Thailand, anything besides a postcard has a 90% chance of disappearing between here and there.
