Yes, I seem to have killed it with a bit of pedantry.  A shame.
That's my favorite; I do it all the time at work to kill dumb projects.

Well the "has New Avalon fallen" thing was amusing, though last I checked I
think the threads reached it's conclusion.

Asides that not much if honest.  Regrettably dull still this board.

We have to do it again sometime, Rorke.

But where are the giants for us to slay?

It's as if all the foes we had on here, are all undone by either our
good works or their own folly.

We need some actual plot advancing material, so we can actually talk
about something up there.

I just went North to tilt at some doctrinal silliness.  I like when people trot out, "in the real world", and I can find a doctrinal answer that say, "nope," in response.

I hope everyone is doing well.

the Armo(u)red Fighting Vehicles thread is getting a little silly - yes, you can fire mortar bombs from your self propelled piece in direct fire mode at a tank but the tank is still going to murder-death-kill you and then paint a little self propelled mortar piece on the side of their turret to record the victory

Yup, and that's why I didn't respond.  Likewise the planetary invasion thread wherein the uninformed don't want to be.

How are you doing my friend?

I'm well, enjoying the day-to-day of work for the most part (even if the grand scheme of things remain clouded) and looking forward to a week away in Corsica soon

Right now I am indulging in handwriting a letter to a friend, partly because it is fun and partly because he and his wife aren't very good at answering emails!

How about you?

Corsica?  Have great fun!

I am adjusting to not being in uniform anymore.  I am in terrible shape and need to fix that. I hope to have some news in the next two weeks to share but I have been asked to keep quiet for the time being.

I hope the news is good

My train of thought is Corsica -> Napoleon -> artillery  :D  (I have never claimed sanity)

I have also made sure that my main POV character in my bad attempt at FanFic is very grumbly about the lack of proper artillery support for their operation... You have rubbed off on me!

It should be good news.  Just got to sit on it a bit.

I'm glad I rubbed off on someone.  Certainly didn't in that last thread.

From a war gaming point of view good artillery isn't fun but my understanding is that the usual mantra of professionals is that if you find yourself in a fair fight you have messed up - use every advantage and avoiding risking your own assets/personnel and it is far easier to ask for more ammunition than to write letters home

I am now on holiday in Corsica - birthplace of Napoleon and (it is claimed) Christopher Columbus and also home to the French Foreign Legion

I am mostly lying around eating amazing local food, drinking amazing local wine and enjoying the company of my parents and wife

It's a tough life but someone's got to do it...

80% of my house is packed up for a move I'd have rather made in a year. It's been a month and half since I've had a hobby workplace (first thing I packed, and first thing I'll move). But we're in ok shape for the move, and plenty of friends to help.

We got three new 3D printers at work, including a Form2 which does amazing work. SLA (Liquid resin) is where the 3D printer field will mature too, I have no doubt.

Dan, if Wikipedia is to be believed then it is BAE Systems, Inc., formerly BAE North America and is semi-autonomous.

I am really excited about this opportunity and am more than happy to be moving on from my current gig.

The landlords decided to boot us out so their daughter and her boyfriend (who stood in my wedding) could move in. Of course I wasn't told that until after we moved out. This kicker was we planned on moving next year at this time as the wife will have finished her teaching degree and we wanted to be flexible to be able to go where the jobs are. I even offered to pay 200$ more a month (what they said they were loosing) and BEGGED to stay.

Anyways so we have a year here. Here is "meh" but all we could find in a month of looking.
