Xmarx is in the US and he makes great resin terrain, check out his mech hangar(I have one and it's big enought for 3 mechs on each side) I've ordered a pile of stuff from him and great customer service and I'm up in Canada.

If you can find them, Pennzee Z-scale Quick Kits railroad buildings (heavy card buildings) work well for 6mm.

Stickied the topic for easier reference.

GHQ also sells individual Hex based sized terrain as well in diffrent scales. I've looking at them for a table I'm thinking of building. I think I prefer maps though.

They fit pretty well, I would take a picture of mine but I haven't painted it yet...

The Shield Emitter tower stands about 3 inches tall, the shield gen is about 3 x 4 inches in terms of footprint on the gaming table.  Hope that helps.

My first guess would be that the UK spawned the hobby, and has the most enthusiasts/manufacturers per capita.

The owner also makes the out of stock pieces on demand as well, if you are patient (1 month or so) and ask politely.  The LCACs are actually really awesome, I have two that I am building at the moment, they look great and are big enough to transport around 4 tanks each, so they really fit with the scale of battletech.

For those playing clickytech, or battletech in clicky scale:

I found some generic cheap N gauge (10mm) buildings for use with your games.

Here:

Kestrel (http://www.gaugemaster.com/search_results.asp?searchstring=scale~~%ACn%AC~~scale%20category~~1229~~category%20brand~~667~~brand&style=&andor=&method=kws&strType=&currentpage=1)

There are other N gauge suppliers on the site however all but one of them is markedly more expensive. The last called Lifelike (http://www.gaugemaster.com/search_results.asp?searchstring=scale~~%ACn%AC~~scale%20category~~1229~~category%20brand~~681~~brand&style=&andor=&method=kws&strType=&currentpage=1) has nice cheap buildings, but they look too specific and lived in and the range is fairly poor.

All the others are considerably more expensive, and while the detail is improved I suspect most players will want to warzone up their models a bit, even if they arent goint to ruin them.  I think thats easier with a basic kit.

If memory serves, Flames of War is 1:100 scale (15mm).

Battletech is 1:285 scale (6mm).

Flames of War would be too big, but Micro Armor is spot on.

Hawk Wargames' Cityscape paper terrain set (http://www.thewarstore.com/product82673.html)

Here's a peek of it in Alpha Strike action

Ignore the building on the bottom left of the top picture. That one is from a downloadable PDF from Hawk Wargames website that they offer if you want more buildings of a certain type in the set or want to give paper terrain a try, so that particular building is homemade.

Most of the other  buildings come from the actual set. Those pieces are from much thicker stock with a varnish finish. If you permanently glue the roof in place, they are sturdier than expected.

I opted to leave them unglued and make cardboard inserts so everything folds flat at the end of the day, but they can sport two or three metal mechs on a roof top during a fight.

Its 10mm, not overly out of scale but for the whopping $40 you pay for the cityscape terrain pack, its actually a top notch product for the price.  Those buildings actually support a metal mech without additional support, and you can print out the same style of buildings for free from their website, if you set it to print at 66%, youll have perfect 6mm scale.

We know, the detailed shapeways-material is expensive, but we try to build details scenery for 6mm. There will be more in march. We hope you like it.

I was looking at that arch and a few other things the other night.

As for burn in designs, I bought from them a few months ago and built them last week. I posted pics on FB. He had posted on his blog that he was not taking anymore orders for a bit to retool. He is upgrading all his cutting equipment.

He also mentioned that he had to reorganize his business set up so he could more easily develop new stuff while also filling orders. Evidently he'd had trouble doing both at once.

The hold is annoying. I'd wanted to order a bunch of buildings from him for my alpha strike terrain project. Guess I'll have to scratch build and get the game craft minis stuff until he opens his store again. Just hope the hiatus is not a long one.

6mm skirmish terrain and miniatures.  The infantry/civilian figs are about 1 mm taller than the smaller (20-823, 824) Kurita and Davion infantry and right in line with GHQ infantry.  Overseas shipping was very reasonable for my small order.  There's also great inspiration for custom pieces in the forum, like the best use for laptop keys (http://angelbarracks.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34) I've seen to date.

I bought a bunch of their buildings a while back. It's not super detailed and it needs some cleanup, but I'd call it worth the price, relative to how expensive a lot of Z scale buildings are.

Depends. The images on their site are actually a pretty good representation of what you can get with a little trimming. But they are cheap and 3d printed, don't always fit together as tightly as one might like, and they tend to look the part.

Easiest/cheapest would be to get the free Dropzone Commander buildings, best to print out on cardstock by their instructions.

Others?
Model railroad N & Z scale buildings
lots of MDF/Wood laser cut buildings you can assemble, either from the producing companies or for sale on Ebay/Amazon
3D printed buildings, either buy them from places or get the files yourself if you have a 3D printer or a friend with one.

I've looked online, but can't seem to find dropzone commander stuff anywhere.

Go here :      https://ttcombat.com/pages/dropzone-commander-resources

Scroll down to the "resources " center .

"Buildings-US paper"  gives you some easy to print stuff and "buildings" gives more variety
but you have to dig through to find stuff that works .
I've read that some people like to re-scale it by printing it at 66 % , but printing it at 55%
seemed to get a better match to the stuff on Sarna .  ( direct door to door height , as the levels are skewed
by artistic details) .
I've been making/using resin and scratch built buildings for years and JUST started using card stock the last few weeks .

It's REALLY nice to carry card stock buildings in a foam container instead of heavy resin models
back and forth from the game store .

Thing is you can use those buildings and embellish them some- like use straws for the columns and a bit of balsa wood as the eve that extends out to cover those columns.

FREX, I want to take their buildings and make them like the ruins ones they offer in resin.  So put some glue and attach bits of green flocking and 'tree' bits to the side like moss & vines have been growing up the side of the buildings as if they were abandoned.  Or cut some of the outer walls as ruins and have the edges look like they are burned or otherwise been damaged in fighting.
