Okay, that was a terrible pun but I reserve my right to make dad jokes on Father's Day weekend. The model, however, is awesome. This is the 'Mech bay from Hardware Studios and is a big, BIG piece that comes in a total of 7 parts, which includes the doors that I have somehow misplaced and a little coolant truck that I haven't painted yet. I wanted the structure to look lived in but not neglected, since it would be a pretty important building and would be well maintained in most cases. The interior is certainly grimy, an effect that was achieved with oil paint washes. I used stencils and decals to dress it up, and installed LED lighting to up the fun factor. There's a blinking amber chip LED above each door, 3 constant white bulbs for normal operations and 3 blinking red LEDs for emergency situations. There's also a removable office/ops center piece that drops into one of the bays and fits perfectly. The bays are big enough for the largest assault 'Mechs and there is plenty of floor space inside for 'Mechs, vehicles and other stuff. I ordered a set of pilots and technicians to go with this but the order never arrived, so I'm waiting on a re-ship.
