:snip:

Meh.  I wouldn't worry about it.  Explain it away as a Power Armour [Light] or a Light Battlearmour with two Armoured Gloves carrying a Portable Support Machine Gun with a Mydron Auto-Pistol for backup or something along those lines.

The Tornado Looks like it's holding a gun to me. O_o http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Tornado
That's because it's one of the suits that dose use "infantry" weapons as standard weapons, which I mentioned earlier.

Most B-tech power armor have built in weapons rather than the "hand held weapons approach".

Suits that use hand held weapons as their main weapons
Kage
Kobold
Nighthawk 21
Tornado
Gray Death Light
Smoothdavid II (a police suit)

Note: The Kage and Kobold also have a squad support weapon (a crew served weapon if you will). Also their all PAL and light class. Your typical "trooper" suit are mediums.

Elementals, IS Standards (and it's spin offs), Achileus, Infiltrator Mk. II's, Longinus, Kanazuchi's, Hauberk's, Nephilim's, Gnome's and so on all use built in weapons.

Your drawing fits into the typical light and PAL suits.

i'd suggest light BA, since it looks to be a bit bulkier than most PAL's..

The top half works really well, the legs need a little slendering up below the knee.
Couldn't the thickness of the legs be explained by mechanical jump boosters?
If we balance by tonnage, I'll bring 10 ultralights that can run a max of 60, and you bring an Atlas. We'll see how that turns out.

A newcomer to the thread, I apologize for going back a bit, but did you ever do a revision of the Unseen Shadow Hawk? I searched through the thread but I'm either blind or it's missing. Given your quality I'd love to see my favorite IS mech given a once over.
But as a matter of fact I was quite busy getting potty-trained at the time and had no time for interstellar politics.- ykonoclast

@Red Pins: BT allows 6-legs now? I thought it was either a Biped or a Quad (or the 3-legged Ares). Or is this the custom house rules?

@Syzyx: Given that it's a Unseen/Reseen mech, I will (eventually) add it to the list of sketches. A bit short on free time and artisitic motivation due to school, at this moment, though. Got a Thermodynamics exam this friday, so won't be drawing much until then. :(

Only one thing better than the Glaug ... the Monster. Ever thought of giving that one a workover? :)

IIRC, the Monster is the size of a building in Macross, which i'm guessig would make it around 200-300, if not more, tons. It's kind of hard to replicate that massive feel in BT when I'm only allowed to go up to 100 (although there are 200 ton mech rules, although SSW doesn't allow that yet).

Excellent work, Eriance; can't wait to see more!

Looking at those, I really wish that FanPro knew you when they decided to do Project Phoenix.
I've seen middle school students draw better-looking machines than what's published in Project Phoenix. That stuff is so juvenile and unbelievable that I have a hard time taking them as "canon."
I'm going to have to agree with TigerShark, Jal Phoenix and Red Pins.

And considering that we're paying customers, there's no reason we can't be critical.

To be honest, I think that Eriance's designs have a bit too many fine details to be appropriate to BT scale.
No excuse, given the detail the smaller Heavy Gear minis can get.

Hell, compared to the level of detail with the Unseens back in the day, the lack of detail in current Battletech minis is criminal.

I think you are looking at the unseens with rose-tinted glasses.

Finished some of the custom unseens (added some older stuff to fill up the space).

Someone purchased all the custom unseens from me for a non-battletech mech game. So i guess these are no longer really batteltech mechs. I was promised that the art will be made available under creative commons free-use liscense; although he will retain the rights to making minis. 4 down some far.

Don't worry about the art, it will be available under an Open Source license (probably the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license), so you can use it in your own fan works/books. Miniatures will also be available...

May we be informed of what company will soon be building your wonderful Big stompy blasting machines and possible when they will be coming out in mini form?  If you would be so kind.

Also its great to hear that a little hobby has turned in to a bit of cash as well.  So are you going to get a small Royalty form the art or was it just a sale?  Will you be doing more work for them in the future?

Cergorach is the one that bought the art, and i believe Sandman will be modeling the stuff after i finish the orthogonal stuff for the stuff.

This will likely be my last set of battletech-ish art for a while. I think it's time for me to move onto something else that I have trouble drawing to better well-round out my artistic skills; most likely coloring.

The Xiphos is the best Marauder-a-like I've ever seen. Looks better than the actual unseen.
