Cromwell medium Battlearmor
« on: 28 January 2022, 21:16:08 »
I think this is the best you actually can get as IS Battlearmor.

10 Armor, MAG shot and SRM in the arms.
Note: Since the SRM 2 is an arm weapon it can still jump with the SRM loaded.

I think this is the best you can do to mimic the standard clan Elemental.

I would recomed though to set up 5 man Squads with these BAs to have either an SRM or LRM 10.

There are multiple roles with battle armor.

They can be deployed for open field combat, which this design seems optimized for.

They can be deployed for boarding ops in space or on land.  This design is ok for that---I think it has either 8 or 8.25 Marine points according to the latest errata, which is decent on a per ton basis.

For in-building combat, you want burst fire weapons and jump jets aren't useful.  I think other designs can be a fair bit more effective here.

The first variant could add an armored glove to carry an AP weapon. :)

On the second one I'd like to mount a LMG instead of the DLGR so I could get 4 rounds of LRMs. After all the LRMs are the obvious main weapon, 33% more ammo is a definite bonus.

Hmm. I implemented said changes. I came up with another Variant though, which use a Fire Drake Needler instead of the Gauss weaponry and adds either an LRM 2 with 4 Reloads or an SRM 2 with 3. Plus it would add a light TAG in the Body.
