Caedis' weak attempt to color TRO Artwork
« on: 09 September 2015, 01:33:51 »
I decided to try my hand at doing some TRO art coloring, and honestly, it is proving to be a good time waster. But I like doing it, so.

Anyways, here's my first attempt at this coloring; A Blood Asp in Clan Star Adder Gamma Galaxy Colors.

What do you think of my disasterous first attempt? I'm probably going to make more, either way.

Didn't think I would finish two more in one night.

A Nova Cat in Clan Nova Cat Alpha Galaxy Colors;

And a Flea in... Random colors I thought looked cool.

Thanks for your attempts, we need more BT art!

I think you are doing fine and I am looking forward to more of your works. If I may be so bold as to suggest something although I am not an artist... it may look even better if you emphasize the contour lines a little more. If the source image has a low resultion you may have to do it manually and this is extremely tiresome, but the result could be rewarding. But as I said, I am no artist and might be totally wrong.

Another point I would like to make is more from the in-universe perspective. Military personnel can be quite artsy when it comes to painting military hardware (I saw that myself during my time in the air force), but there are some technical limits: Think about the ground crew with their buckets of paint and their big paintbrush. Such colour gradients like on your Nova Cat's torso are hard work. I think even in the future they'd probably stick to clear cut colours. (I hope I can get my point across; it is a bit difficult for me since I am not only not an artist, I am also not a native speaker).

Please don't take that as negative criticism, I absolutely appreciate your contributions!  :)

Here's another; A FWL Carronade. Eagle bless the purple of doom.

I'm posting the images as attachments now, so I don't overspam with page size.

Very nice, but you flipped the accent colors.  Red on the right side, blue on the left.

Whoops, sorry. I've never been too familiar with Marik forces.

Not really TRO art, but still, Btech. I heavily edited some of the new Battletech Game's promo art, and here's what I got.

I'll make more versions as I go along, so here's the first.

EDIT - Changed it to my second version. The first had more errors than I wanted.

So I modified a Jade Hawk, and gave it stats (In the Fan Designs Section). I have to say, I'm glad it turned out okay. I also added the original Jade Hawk picture, for comparison.
