If something is too white, it comes off as devoid of any color on the table and stands out in an unnatural way. 

Best way to deal with that is to use a slightly off-white - eg. Corax White, which is slightly greyish - with good panel lining, and then ghostbrush the edges with pure white. Alternatively, 15th Arcturan Guards use tiger-stripes on the upper arms, which looks really good by contrast.
