I can see a lot of amusing options.  Even standard AC-2's seem usable, especially if given flak ammo.

Light Gauss for precision long range work.  Artillery cannons for AoE. 

What are so e of your favorite field gun setups?

I don't have much practical experience with them, but I do like the concept.
