Fairly certain we've seen almost identical designs before... :-\

Problem is that all the weapons have about the same range brackets, so you want to shoot everything for +24 heat. #P

Maulers with this weapons sweet don't need ERLLs, switching to standard LLs would be much more in line with the way things should go. XL engine should probably remain and the armor seems to be too heavy for a typical mauler design.

Actually, I’m not a fan of snubbies, but replacing the lasers with the, would work in this case, going LRMs and Lights at range, then snubs and a couple lights when the ammo is looking low or getting too close.

How about we emphasize the ballistic weapons as the big guns, and the energy weapons can be the long-range, small-damage plinkers?  And because space is at a premium, we'll just slap in a bunch of one-shot MRM 10s.  They're Kuritan, after all!

My biggest issue with the Mauler, and many others, is I have no use for AC/2 anything. The AC/2, in any form, is a weapon designed specifically to exploit poorly written rules, IMHO.

Kind of kills the fun of the game for me when someone spends more effort playing off exploiting a bad rule rather than thinking tactically and doing something more.

Just MY personal opinion, and not really open to debate or argument...

I have to agree BK.  I really do not like AC 2's.  The RAC-2's aren't bad....but I prefer the 5's.  I really like what you did with the redesign.  The LPPC's are a perfect swap out.  No ammo dependency, good range and not bad for heat either.   Good work man!
If at first you don't succeed, make it worth the repairman's time!

So is the clan ERLL, clan LPL, clan LB2, HVAC2, ELRM, pretty much any area effect weapon...

IMHO AC/2s are great to COUNTER one of the biggest rules exploits - camping in cover!
