So I decided to build a BTU conversion of a ship I actually visited, C35 HMS Belfast (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Belfast_(C35))which is at anchor opposite the Tower of London. Built from a design in the early 1930s after the London Treaty she served through WWII and into the years afterwards before becoming a museum ship.
So . . . going through TacOps (and considering a excel worksheet to make this easier in the future) I at first think I had misunderstood tech rating in relation to chassis modification table- namely that a B Tech ship can be Armored, it just has to be built or produced (designed?) by a C Tech level world since its C level availability. I am basically thinking of taking ship classes that served from WWII up to the 70s when they went full missile (and accurate) armaments. The ship's basic tech level (even if parts of it are higher tech as I understand the book) is IMO a good way to differentiate between some of our IRL advances in materials & construction.
So . . . can a B Tech level ship be Armored (C) or have a Fuel Cell/Fission/Fusion (C)?
