U.S. ARMY TOTAL ARMY PERSONNEL COMMAND (TAPC), ATTN: OMPS-GO, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22331

TO: Military Personnel Directorate - Fort Hood and III Corps, ATTN: Officer Records, Copeland Soldier Service Center, 18010 Legends Way, Fort Hood, TX  76544

FROM:  COL Melvin Kaminski, TAPC Alexandria, Quality Assurance and Integration Cell

SUBJECT: Erroneous records errors (eMILPO/IPPS-A Beta test transfer)

This is the LAST time I’m going to send you an email over this.  If you don’t fix LTG Hodges file before IPPS-A goes live it’s not going to be on me, no Sir, not me.  For chrissakes he’s your CG! What more urgency is needed past that?!?  This is it, pull your heads out and get that lazy General Staff G-1 moving on the corrections or else it’s your rears and careers.

1.  His NDSM should be 1 BSS, not 2.

2.  He is missing his Campaign Stars on both his ICM and ACM.

3.  How did you not see his Combat Action Badge is missing?

Go check his iPERMS if you don’t believe me and just fix it already you lazy ****** - Mel
Oh, I like this.

I'll have to update the character bio.

In the context of this story, that memo was sent the day before Hodges' house 'disappeared' so dramatically.

In a related area, I can only imagine how Fort Hood, the DOD and the several alphabet agencies reacted in the aftermath of the explosion...

Rookhaven and elsewhere on the continent of Ohio
Harvest

After the Batchall was completed, Ulric Kerensky and the other khans boarded their dropship and returned to the Clan flagship Dire Wolf, where orders were issued for the landings to begin immediately. These operations lasted for the next three days, and resulted in Clan contingents taking up positions all across the continent of Ohio; the Jade Falcons landed 240 kilometers west of the city of Rookhaven (defended by Field Marshal Hodges’s forces; consisting of ten division combat teams and five air cavalry divisions), while the Smoke Jaguars did likewise for the city of Aaron Ranch (located 350 kilometers to the southwest and defended by the 1st, 2nd and 10th Lyran Royal Guards).

The city of Joseph’s Corner is located a further 150 kilometers southwest of Aaron Ranch, and is defended by the Davion Brigade of Guards, the Eridani Light Horse and the Hong Kong Cavaliers; it will be engaged by Clan Ghost Bear. The city of Pusou (located 480 kilometers west before the eastern slopes of the Skonnsen Mountain Range) is defended by the 1st and 2nd Sword of Light Regiments, plus the 1st Genyosha Regiment. Khan Severen Leroux of Clan Nova Cat chooses to land his troops west of the mountains in order to use them as a screen to cover his movements.

The Plains of Dangalobee are defended by Wolf’s Dragoons, the Royal Black Watch Regiment, the Northwind Highlanders and the 331st Royal Battlemech Division; they are dug in on the east bank of the Ohio River. Due to the antipathy that Clan Wolf has for the 331st Royal Battlemech Division and Wolf’s Dragoons, Khan Kerensky of Clan Wolf exercises his command prerogative and chooses to attack here. Giving some forethought to the possibility that support might be needed if combat operations don’t go as planned, he issues orders that Clan Steel Viper and Clan Diamond Shark are to take up the role of theater reserve.

On the AEF side, the forces defending Aaron Ranch, Joseph’s Corner, Pusou and the Plains of Dangalobee are reinforced by contingents consisting of 20 RCTs each, while the theater reserve consists of a further 33 RCTs; which units consisting of one mech regiment (108 units), one tank brigade (324 units), one aerospace fighter wing (36 units), one infantry brigade and one transport & support regiment. In terms of technological parity, all of Field Marshal Hodges’ units are fully-upgraded with the latest weapons and equipment (including the Hong Kong Cavaliers, the Royal Black Watch, the 331st Royal Battlemech Division, the Northwind Highlanders and Wolf’s Dragoons), as are 20% of the Davion, Lyran and Draconis Combine contingents; the other 80% of the House troops (and all of the regimental combat teams) have a more limited upgrade package, consisting of multi-spectral rangefinders, weapon stabilization systems, combat computers and improved cooling jackets.

In the days before the batchall took place in Rookhaven, the several contingents of the Allied Expeditionary Force conducted their landings to best advantage and secured their landing zones according to the policy of the respective commanding officers. According to orders previously issued by Field Marshal Hodges, the Rookhaven landing zone is defended by a square brigade of superheavy battlemechs; this marks the first appearance of this class of machine on any battlefield. Needless to say, Hodges’s fellow officers were quite surprised when these gigantic machines took up their positions.

In a final command conference before Field Marshal Artan Sortek and the other officers see to the disposition of their forces, Duggan Marik (who commands the supporting RCTs) looks to Field Marshal Hodges and says “is there any limit to your surprises, sir? I and the others had no idea that you had viable superheavy mechs in your TO & E…”

“General Marik, the surprise that you and the others are experiencing right now is only a token indicator of what the Jade Falcons will feel if they attempt to attack my landing zone. As for further surprises, just wait and see what happens.”

A brief pause, then Field Marshal Hodges salutes his fellow officers and says “gentlemen, let us look to this day; may fortune be ours.”

The action begins in the Rookhaven Area of Operations just as the forces of Clan Jade Falcon begin to move. Suddenly and without warning, a total of 1,000 Storm Shadow hypersonic cruise missiles rise from their launchers and divide themselves into two separate flocks of 500 missiles each. These missiles immediately assume a nap-of-the-earth flight profile (so as to avoid detection until it’s too late) and move to attack Clan Jade Falcon’s formation simultaneously from the southwest and northwest; simultaneously, two hundred theater ballistic missiles begin to rise atop columns of fire. The flight paths and flight time of each group of weapons was carefully calculated so that every weapon would arrive on target at the exact same time; a missile version of the ‘Time on Target’ artillery barrage.

Khan Elias Crichell began the Jade Falcon advance, supremely confident of victory against that dezgra barbarian Hodges; that confidence was quickly shattered as his communications officer shouted warnings of an incoming missile strike. The Jade Falcon anti-missile systems manage to shoot down half of the incoming cruise missiles; however, they are quickly overwhelmed, Some 500 Storm Shadows reach their designated target areas and deploy DPICM and thermobaric warheads, while those with unitary warheads go on to strike enemy dropships and ‘mech formations. As if things couldn’t get any worse, the theater ballistic missiles reach their IP and release their MIRVs. Just 60 seconds later, a total of 600 warheads come down all over Clan Jade Falcon’s formation, adding yet more death and destruction.

After the last enemy warhead goes off and the smoke of thousands of explosions begins to clear, Khan Crichell calls out “SaKhan Chistu, status report.” Aboard his Executioner omnimech, Chistu replies “My Khan, I am grieved to report that, despite our anti-missile systems functioning as intended, twelve of our dropships have been destroyed and we have lost a full 10% of our ground forces; this amounts to 70 omnimechs, two trinaries worth of tanks, two trinaries worth of artillery and three binaries worth of Elementals. No losses of omnifighters occurred, as they were already airborne when the missiles came in.”

“Very well. We will have vengeance for this stain upon the honor of our Clan; order the omnifighters to press their attack. The rest of us will continue with the advance.”

“Aff, my Khan.”

Among the mechwarriors coming across the field with Clan Jade Falcon is Ranna Kerensky, granddaughter of Natasha Kerensky; her presence is by her specific request and with the agreement of Khan Elias Crichell and her cousin Khan Ulric Kerensky. The reason for Ranna’s presence is that she’s been wanting to test herself on the battlefield against Field Marshal Hodges ever since she heard how he defeated her grandmother in just 30 seconds. Alone in the cockpit of her Warhawk, a frisson of excitement runs through Kerensky’s mind as she anticipates the coming battle.

On the other side of the battlefield, Field Marshal Hodges quickly reviews the status reports from his unit commanders and remarks to his adjutant Victor Steiner-Davion “well Colonel, that certainly got their attention.”

“Indeed it did, sir. I’d be willing to bet that the Jade Turkeys are angry enough to chew nails and spit tacks.” Hodges chuckles malignantly as he replies “the angrier those people get, the better I like it.” Just then, an air raid warning comes in over the comms channel…

High over the battlefield, Field Marshal Hodges’ aerospace fighters have been orbiting safely out of the way of the outgoing missile fire. AWACS shows that there are 600 enemy fighters inbound, so Hodges’ own fighters are vectored in on the enemy.

“TALLYHO! Good luck and good hunting…”

On the ground below. Hodges’ troops are preparing to accept battle from the approaching Clanners. On the right flank in the cockpit of his battlemech Green Lantern, Captain Richard Hodges is running through a series of system checks in anticipation of the coming battle.

Pity about the lost Dropships, those could have been nice salvage.

Still, perhaps this is the day that the tanks will get to shoot at their full ranges against Jade Falcon Mechs?

Hereafter follows the next update.

A Clash of Eagles
May 16th, 3050
The skies over Rookhaven

In the skies over the continent of Ohio, a series of massive aerial engagements is taking place between the ASF squadrons of the Allied Expeditionary Force and those of the Clans. Above the city of Rookhaven, Field Marshal Hodges’ AWACs vector his aerospace fighters towards the enemy; the engagement begins with a volley of Sparrowhawk AAMs launched at near maximum range; so as to deprive the Clan fighters of any warning about the incoming attack, their targeting information comes from the several AWACs orbiting over the battlefield. It’s only at the last possible moment that the missiles’ seeker heads will go active.

In keeping with Field Marshal Hodges’ policy of keeping alive his former affiliation with the U.S military, his ASF squadrons all bear the names of USAF fighter squadrons; one of these is the 8th ASF Squadron, the ‘Black Sheep’, one flight of which is commanded by his daughter Capt. Rebecca Hodges (call sign ‘Valkyrie’). In fact, it’s Captain Hodges’ fighter ‘Hell’s Belle’ along with her flightmates (1LT Amelia Nakamura; call sign ‘Buns’) and 1LT Kathy Raulston; call sign ‘Lips’) who fire the very first missiles of the engagement with the calls of “Fox One!!”

In terms of raw numbers, Field Marshal Hodges’ aerospace forces have a 17% numerical superiority over their Clan opponents; 720 ASFs compared to 600 for Clan Smoke Jaguar. Almost immediately, superior numbers begin to tell as 100 Clan omni-fighters fall to the initial missile volley. Seeing his forces savaged with such ridiculous ease even before his omni-mechs, tanks and artillery can come into play, Khan Leo Showers swallows his pride and calls on Clan Diamond Shark for assistance.

Elsewhere over the continent of Ohio, aerial combats of varying sizes are taking place; some as small as fighter vs fighter and others being wing vs wing fur balls.

A Thunder of War
May 16th, 3050
The plains before the city of Rookhaven

On the left flank, Captain John Hodges and his tank company (the ‘Cratermakers’) are preparing to engage the Jade Falcon elements advancing on his position. After peering through his CITV, Hodges calls out to his tank commander "Target Bearing 270 degrees relative, range 3,600 meters and closing; two stars of clan mechs with escorts."

"Identification?" The lieutenant commanding ‘Hell Hammer’ asked.

"Smoke Jaguars." Captain John Hodges responded after looking through his CITV

"Gunner, load SABOT; stand by to fire on my command."

Star Captain Andrus was bored and angry in the cockpit of his Timber Wolf; the opposing dezgra having refused to meet him and his fellow mechwariors in open combat; always shooting from extreme ranges and running off…

By the Great Father, he wanted a real challenge!!

"There! The freebirth scum deploy tanks, the new one from Hodges…." His sensors showed eight tanks, all of which were dug in hull-down; he was insulted.
"Send the elementals." .

Some minutes later aboard Hell Hammer, the tank commander called out "Elementals moving fast; range 2,400 meters and closing"; the gunner replied "got ‘em".

"Beta 2 through Beta 4, load canister and prepare to engage the bugs; Beta 5 through Beta 8 will take the mechs."

"SABOT UP"

"FIRE!!’

"On the way!" The gunner spoke as the tank’s main gun roared, sending a 150-mm APFSDSDU shell forth at 1,800 meters per second. A fraction of a second later, the projectile reached its target

Star Captain Andrus felt the impact as a shell hit the right arm of his Timber Wolf; instead of an explosion, the projectile tore through the armor and knocked out the ER large laser.

"Gunner, load HESH and Fire!”

"ON THE WAY!!"

The HESH projectile struck Andreus’ mech dead-center and destroyed the mech’s gyro, the hit causing the Timber Wolf to fall backwards. Elsewhere, the other tanks in Beta Company opened up with a combination of APFSDSDU, HESH and canister shells; the elementals approaching Beta’s position began to be mowed down with swarms of high-velocity tungsten carbide shot, while the clan mechs lost arms and legs; in some cases, enemy mechs were destroyed when APFSDSDU projectiles cored through the torso armor and destroyed their fusion reactors.

For Star Captain Andrus, the other mechs of his two stars and their supporting elementals were being absolutely savaged. In two cases, clan mechs were disabled when the ammo bins for their LRM launchers exploded; the pilots survived due to the protection afforded by CASE. Climbing from his cockpit, the clan mechwarrior shouted angrily "HODGES!!!!!!"

After the commanders of the other tanks in Beta Company reported that they had expended 10% of their ammunition loads, Captain Hodges ordered “CEASE FIRE”; it was time to redeploy elsewhere.

"Alright Cratermakers, those baby seals have been clubbed enough. Re-deploy to Phase Line Bravo and assume standard defensive positions; HEAD’EM UP AND MOVE ‘EM OUT!!"

Where two proud stars of clan battlemechs and their supporting elementals once stood, there were damaged and destroyed mechs scattered all over the battlefield; the elementals had been hit particularly hard, losing some 80% of their strength. As clan mechwarriors helped their wounded or unconscious comrades out of their cockpits, Star Captain Andrus began to rage on open comms.

In the meantime on the right flank, Captain Richard Hodges and his company of assault mechs (the ‘Iron Legion’) are taking the fight to the enemy. As the engagement gets under way, a challenge is received over the open comms channel.

“I am Ranna Kerensky, mechwarrior of Clan Wolf. I call on Field Marshal Hodges to engage me in open battle.” The response is swift “Kerensky, I am Captain Richard Hodges; my father sends his regrets that he is unable to accept your challenge in person because he’s engaged elsewhere against the rest of you nipple necks. However, I will accept it in his name; step up and have a go if you think you’re hard enough.

“Freebirth, prepare to meet your maker”

Captain Hodges moves out onto the field, with his PPC capacitors charged and ready for use. He catches sight of Kerensky’s machine coming towards him and does a quick scan with his active sensors. ‘Hmm, a Warhawk-C; has two ER PPCs and two large pulse lasers coupled with a targeting computer for increased accuracy. Nice machine; it’ll be too bad if something bad happens to it…’

The two mechs are some 1,500 meters apart when Hodges has Green Lantern break out into a run at 80 kph. Across the field, Ranna Kerensky almost can’t believe what her sensors are telling her; that her opponent (who weighs 15 tons more than her machine does) is moving a full one-third faster that her Warhawk is capable of. The distance between the two mechs closes rapidly until they are 750 meters apart; mockingly, Hodges calls out over the comms channel and says “Kerensky, for what you’re about to receive, may you be truly thankful.”

Two bright, brilliant emerald green particle beams flash across the battlefield in the blink of an eye. The first beam strikes the Warhawk’s right arm and removes two-thirds of the armor protecting that location, while the second beam hits the right torso and removes the same amount of armor.

“What in the name of the Great Father did Hodges hit me with?? He nailed me from 750 meters and stripped off two-thirds of the armor on my right arm and right torso…”

As Kerensky’s Warhawk is somewhat outside the longest range of her ER PPCs, it isn’t until ten seconds later that she’s able to open fire. Seeking to end the fight as quickly as possible, Kerensky targets both of her ER PPCs on the center torso of Hodges’ mech; the fact that Kerensky is moving at the run affects the accuracy of her weapons; one PPC beam goes wide left, while the other hits Green Lantern as intended. In his cockpit, Captain Hodges’ sensors tell him of the damage his machine has taken. Silently remarking to himself, Hodges says “hmm, I actually noticed that; it’s time to punch Kerensky’s ticket.”

The targeting computer locks all three of Green Lantern’s large pulse lasers on the right leg of Kerensky’s mech. Instantly, the brilliant emerald-green beams flash across the battlefield and remove some 83% of the armor. Worse yet, one of the beams finds a flaw in the armor and destroys the left leg’s hip actuator; in one moment, Kerensky is charging across the battlefield confident of victory. The next, the Warhawk falls and causes yet more damage to the right arm and right torso.

As Kerensky’s machine starts to rise, Captain Hodges seizes his opportunity. He runs over, kicks Kerensky’s Warhawk onto its back and plants Green Lantern’s left foot onto the enemy mech’s chest. Next, he taps the cockpit canopy with his right hand and says “you’re indeed brave, madam. However, the fight is mine; do you yield?”

“I…I yield.”

“Very well. Under the customs of your people, I’ll be taking you as my bondswoman; I expect you to comport yourself as such. Remain here; the MPs will be along to collect you. Quiaff, as your people would say?”

“Aff.”

IIRC, he was killed at The Rock

As luck would have it, first contact between the military forces of the Clans and those of the Inner Sphere came on April 5th, 3048 on a planet known as ‘The Rock’; which system being located in a region of the Periphery known as the Barrens. On that day, Phelan Kell and his fellow mechwarriors in the 2nd Regiment of the Kell Hounds mercenary group were on the Rock as they had been contracted by the system’s government to engage the pirates infesting the area. While engaged in this task, the 2nd Regiment was encountered by a Wolf Clan strike force led by Vladimir Ward; in the battle which followed, the regiment was overwhelmed and Phelan Kell was killed..[/size]

At long last, ye next update followeth.

A Clash of Eagles, Part 2
May 16th, 3050

Shortly after Field Marshal Hodges' aerospace fighters open the engagement against the Jade Falcons, a warning comes over the communications channel from the orbiting AWACS platforms that additional enemy ASFs are inbound; this complicates the tactical situation as the reinforcements from Clan Diamond Shark have raised the number of Clan aerospace fighters over Rookhaven to a total of 980 units (compared to Hodges' 700 units). To further lessen the odds against them, Hodges' aerospace fighters loose two more volleys of Sparrowhawk AAMs, which missiles accounting for another 75 of Clan Jade Falcon's ASFs and some 80 from Clan Diamond Shark.

Aghast over the losses that they have suffered thus far, the Clan air bosses order their fighters to close up and engage Hodges' aerospace assets at shorter range. Thereafter, a wild furball breaks out between the two aerial armadas; the sheer scale of the combat exceeding anything seen in the Inner Sphere since the First Succession War. Laser beams and PPC bolts cross the skies over Rookhaven, as do volleys of cannon fire; at all levels, it's the tactics, training and technological superiority of Field Marshal Hodges' aerospace squadrons that makes the difference. For example, there are a number of instances where one of more of Hodges' aerospace squadrons serve as bait in order to lure enemy air assets into such positions that they can be ambushed by twice their numbers.

A favorite tactic of Hodges' aerospace pilots is the 'Thach Weave', perfected by LCDR John S. Thach and Ensign Edward O'Hare during the Pacific Campaign of World War II on Terra. Here, a 'Finger-Four' formation would break into separate two-plane elements. In each element, one aircraft would serve as bait and the other would be the 'hook'. When an enemy aircraft would go after the bait, its pilot would turn towards the hook aircraft and cross its path. Once the distance between the bait and the hook aircraft was great enough, the hook would open fire on the enemy' aircraft's rear quarter. By this device (plus other tricks & stratagems such as dynamic deceleration, Immelmann turns and Frolov Chakras), Hodges' aerospace assets were able to inflict six kills for every loss they suffered.

Later on in the afternoon, Smoke Jaguar and Diamond Shark ground forces had just effected a rendezvous when they were flailed by a massive airstrike from Field Marshal Hodges' four bomb wings (the 1st & 2nd from Bristol, and the 3rd & 4th from Beecher), each of which are composed of 72 'Dominator' strategic bombers. These are 200-ton small craft, each of which carries a mixed 100-ton ordnance load (cluster, thermobaric, Inferno and laser-guided HE). The total amount of ordnance thus dropped comes to 28,800 tons; equal to 42.6% of the munitions dropped on Berlin throughout all of World War II. The main difference between that campaign and this one is that Hodges' ordnance was delivered within the space of 30 minutes (rather than over three years, as was the situation with Berlin); as the last bomb went off, Hodges' tank, mech and battlesuit units surged forward from their prepared positions under cover of a blizzard of long-range artillery and rocket fire.

Though grand and spectacular in the truest sense of the word, Hodges' 'Sunday Punch' served as cover for the true thrust of his attack, a nap-of-the-earth assault by the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Air Cavalry Divisions intended to capture the headquarters and command staffs of the Smoke Jaguars and Diamond Sharks. Having been previously dispatched, the divisional ground assets move into a position where they can support the attack helicopters and attack transports; the RSTA Cat’s Eye helicopters occupy themselves in scouting out enemy positions and designating targets of opportunity for service by tube artillery and ASM fire.

Clan Smoke Jaguar’s field headquarters is set up at the forward edge of their landing area, so as to better observe and control the ebb and flow of combat; with the arrival of Khan Ian Hawker and the Diamond Sharks, Khan Lincoln Osis and saKhan Sara Weaver waste no time is setting up a joint command council. Unfortunately for the two Khans, their efforts will soon come to an abrupt end.

The headquarters compound is guarded by six trinaries of light and medium omnimechs (90 units) plus four elemental binaries (200 units); these are supported by two trinaries of armor (30 units), with the remainder of the battlemechs, armor, artillery and elementals having been sent forward to join the attack. Just as the command staff is dealing with the effects of Field Marshal Hodges’ massive missile and aerial bombardments, saKhan Sara Weaver (in her capacity as operations officer) shouts out “my Khan, we have waves of enemy helicopters and aircraft attacking us from four different directions to our rear…”

“What?? Why was their no warning?”

“My khan, the enemy only appeared on our radar screens less than a minute ago.”

“This is some trick of that dezgra bastard Hodges; alert the omnimech trinaries, have the elemental binaries take up defensive positions and deploy the armor in support.”

“Aff, my khan.”

As the attack begins, General Gavvin carries out an order from Field Marshal Hodges by calling to his executive officer and saying “play Psy-War Op Two; make it loud.” While the Smoke Jaguars are reacting to the unfolding engagement, Hodges’ attack helicopters begin their runs accompanied by the playing of two songs from the 20th century Terran rock group Twisted Sister (‘I Wanna Rock’ and ‘We’re Not Gonna Take it’); following these are ‘Long Tall Sally’ (by Little Richard) and ‘Great Balls of Fire’ (by Jerry Lee Lewis). While the attack helicopters are playing out their symphony of destruction, the Cat’s Eyes are using their TAG systems to illuminate the Clan defensive forces as they move up. Each of Hodges’ Air Cavalry divisions is composed of an attack helicopter regiment (108 units), an RSTA regiment (108 units), a transport regiment (108 units and 15 companies of battlesuits (160 units each, with half of these held back to support the armor and artillery); in support are a battalion of light artillery (18 pieces) and a brigade of medium armor (108 units). In total, the force attacking the Smoke Jaguar headquarters comprises 432 attack helicopters, 432 Cat’s Eye RSTA helicopters, 432 transport VTOLs and 4,800 battlesuits. The outcome of the engagement is never in doubt; what follows is 15 minutes of hard fighting, with the Clan defenses taking 90% losses.

Khan Osis sends the signal to surrender; as his pride doesn’t allow him to meet the enemy commander just yet, he designates saKhan Weaver to meet with him. 45 minutes later, MG Richard Gavvin arrives by transport VTOl along with his security element of a platoon of battlesuits.

Weaver meets General Gavvin and enquires “you are the commanding officer of the forces which attacked us?”

“I’m Major General Richard Gavvin, and I have the honor to command Field Marshal Hodges’ air cavalry troops; who might you be?”

“I am saKahn Sara Weaver, second-in-command to my khan Lincoln Osis; he is currently indisposed. With me is Khan Ian Hawker of Clan Diamond Shark, whose forces came in response to Khan Osis’ call for support..”

MG Gavvin chuckles loudly and replies “I suppose that if I got my ass so completely kicked, I’d be indisposed too. Well, be that as it may, I accept the surrender of all Smoke Jaguar forces. As for whether or not the Field Marshal intends to take you as bondsmen, it will be for him to decide…”

Just then, a shot rings out from inside the headquarters enclosure; Gavvin’s battlesuit escort instantly levels their weapons, as if to defend against a possible suicide attack.

“What the hell was that, Weaver? I don’t react at all well to someone attacking under cover of a white flag…”

“Your pardon, General; it seems as if Khan Osis preemptively declared bondsref as he couldn’t bring himself to accept that he lost.”

“Very well. Since you just got promoted, you’ll send a message to all Smoke Jaguar elements that they are to jettison all of their ammunition stores, power down their energy weapons and abandon their vehicles; this also goes for your guys, Hawker. Do you both understand?”

“Aff, General Gavvin.”

Action Stations
May 17th-May 20th, 3050
Aaron Ranch, Joseph’s Corner, Pusou and the Plains of Dangalobee

Word of Field Marshal Hodges’ defeat of the Smoke Jaguars and Diamond Sharks quickly spreads throughout the rest of the Allied forces on the continent, further heartening them to press forward and see the action towards its conclusion. By way of comparison, news of the surrender is greeted by the other clans with shock and dismay; how could the Clans (who hold themselves superior to the spheroid degenerates) have suffered such a defeat?

Regardless, there is their duty to the Cause. The Smoke Jaguars, Wolves, Nova Cats, Ghost Bears and Steel Vipers still have very considerable offensive power left and so, combat operations are continuing. To make up for the shortfall in manpower occasioned by the surrender of Clan Diamond Shark, Khan Kerensky calls up Clan Steel Viper from their reserve position and puts them into frontline service; the Steel Vipers are sent to aid the Smoke Jaguars in their attack on the city of Aaron Ranch (defended by the 1st, 2nd and 10th Lyran Royal Guards). Finding his troops at the wrong end of a adverse correlation of forces, in that area, Field Marshal Ardan Sortek exercises his command discretion and calls for reinforcements.

These are speedily-provided by Field Marshal Hodges, and come from the 1st and 2nd Air Cavalry divisions, plus 15 squadrons of aerospace fighters from the 1st-5th Battlemech divisions. At the same time, ‘mech and tank forces from these units are proceeding towards Aaron Ranch wit all possible speed. As Aaron Ranch is 350 kilometers to the southwest of Rookhaven, it will take some five hours for Field Marshal Hodges’ reinforcements to arrive; at the forefront of the advance is Captain Richard Hodges command (the ‘Iron Mongers), reinforced to the level of a full battalion.

The city of Aaron Ranch is defended by the 1st, 2nd and 10th Lyran Royal Guards; these units are each composed of a regiment of assault mechs (108 units), an aerospace brigade (two reinforced wings with 24 aerospace fighters each, three regiments of armor (108 tanks each) and one infantry brigade (five regiments with 1,344 troops each); operating in support are 20 regimental combat teams (each with a mech regiment (108 units), an armor brigade (324 units), an aerospace fighter wing (36 units), an infantry brigade and a transport & support regiment. 20% of the Lyran Royal Guard units have been refitted with the very best of Field Marshal Hodges’ weapons, equipment and technology; the remaining 80% (plus the supporting RCTs) have had a more-limited refit, consisting of Star League neurohelmets, weapon stabilization systems, multi-spectral rangefinders and combat computers.

The city of Joseph’s Corner is defended by the Davion Brigade of Guards, the Eridani Light Horse and the Hong Kong Cavaliers (commanded by Field Marshal Ardan Sortek) ; defending the city of Pousou in the Skonnsen Mountains are the 1st and 2nd Sword of Light regiments and the 1st Genyosha regiment (commanded by Hohiro Kurita); the Plains of Dangalobee are defended by Wolf’s Dragoons, the Royal Black Watch Regiment, the Northwind Highlanders and the 331st Royal Battlemech Division (commanded by Kai Allard-Liao). Each of the four fronts has 20 Regimental Combat Teams operating in support; these forces are commanded by MG Duggan Marik, with General Thomas Calderon as his executive officer.

Between May 17th and May 20th, the actions of the Allied Expeditionary Force are carried through with the utmost vigor everywhere, except on the Plains of Dangalobee. Here, the antipathy that Clan Wolf has for Wolf’s Dragoons (for them having switched sides), the Royal Black Watch Regiment, the Northwind Highlanders and the 331st Royal Battlemech Division is met with near-fanatical levels of aggression by the Dragoons, the Highlanders and the Royals.

At Aaron Ranch, the 1st, 2nd and 10th Lyran Royal Guards mounted a furious delaying action until Field Marshal Hodges’ ground assets could reach them; this was done with support from the 20 RCTs assigned to that sector, the 1st & 2nd Air Cavalry divisions and the aerospace assets from the 1st-5th Division Combat Teams. Five hours later, the ground assets from the five DCTs arrived and engaged the Smoke Jaguars and Steel Vipers. The resulting engagement lasted until the early hours on the morning of May 18th, turning what was a very near-run thing for the Lyran Royal Guard units into a crushing defeat for the Clan clusters. Kill ratios for the fully-refitted portions of the Lyran Royal Guard units were 5-1 in their favor; Hodges’ DCTs and Air Cavalry divisions had the same ratio, while those partially-refitted portions of the Royal Guard units (and the supporting RCTs) had kill ratios of 2.5-1. In the skies above Aaron Ranch, AEF aerospace assets inflicted a kill ratio of 6-1.

Elsewhere in the vicinity of Joseph’s Corner, the engagement was similarly hard-fought; kill ratios were a combined 4.5-1 for the Davion Brigade of Guards, 5-1 for the Eridani Light Horse and 6-1 for the Hong Kong Cavaliers. At Pusou in the Skonssen Mountains, the 1st and 2nd Sword of Light regiments and the 1st Genyosha Regiment brought great distinction on themselves and House Kurita, inflicting a combine kill ratio of 7-1 against Clan Nova Cat.

Nowhere on the continent of Ohio was the action more hard-fought than on the Plains of Dangalobee. Here, Wolf’s Dragoons, the Royal Black Watch Regiment, the Northwind Highlanders and the 331st Royal Battlemech Division faced off against the forces of Clan Wolf. The antipathy that the Wolves have for these units showed in the ferocity with which they carried out their attacks; these were responded to in kind by the Dragoons, the Black Watch, the highlanders and the Royals. Of the engagements in the several areas of operation on Ohio, the Battle of The Plains lasted the longest; by the time that the guns fell silent late in the afternoon on May 20th, the AEF contingent had inflicted losses of 6-1 on the Wolves. Among the last of the Wolves to fall was Khan Ulric Kerensky, whose headquarters was over-run by the 331st Royal Battlemech Division. Clan Wolf’s most senior surviving officer was SaKhan Garth Radick; it was he who surrendered, thus bringing the Battle of Harvest to a close.

I'm glad you liked it.

The Clans were simply out-produced; it also didn't help them that the effort was driven by a supremely-talented U.S Army general officer with 20+ years to get ready.

Next up, there's picking up the pieces. You'll notice that the Marian Hegemony wasn't invited to the party on Harvest because they practice slavery. This is something that Field Marshal Hodges finds offensive in the extreme; once the affair have been settled, he'll be paying the Marians a little visit...

There's gonna be a few sites with no salvage, just gathering stuff for recycling,  I recommend large electromagnets deployed by vtols to vacuum up most of it

Offhand, I'd estimate that the Clans suffered between 40%-60% losses. Of these, half will be recovered and repaired; the other half are fit only for salvage.

At Rookhaven, Field Marshal Hodges is entitled to 100% of the recoveries and the salvage; at Aaron Ranch, he'll be getting 40% of each; the remaining 60% goes to the Lyrans. For Joseph's Corner, the Davions get 100%, as do the Kuritas at Pousou.

As for the Plains of Dangalobee, the salvage & recoveries are evenly split between Wolf's Dragoons, the Royal Black Watch, the Northwind Highlanders and the 331st Royal Battlemech Division.

The supporting RCTs will be apportioned among the participating houses on the basis of population size; 40% to the Federated Commonwealth, 30% to the Draconis Combine and 10% each to the Capellan Confederation, the Free Worlds League and the Taurian Concordat. Though these entities didn't contribute ground forces, their logistical support to the operation was invaluable.

I was shocked that the Taurian Concordat, didn't put ground troops in.

But not surprised at the results:
Clanners aren't geared for total war.  If you don't fight by their rules, but use the IS greatest advantage Manpower they will loose

Well I am surprised they didn't put nukes on target as it is the Bulls way to nuke first, nuke more, followed up by more nukes, then nuke again, reaching to still nuking till they glow, getting to nuke baby nuke, and ending (possibly) just nuke the HELL out of them!

The Concordat's unofficial motto should be "looking for some canned sunshine, then mess with us, we have your canned sunshine RIGHT HERE!"

Precisely; not so much the artillery, but the thousands of  cruise missiles, the hundreds of theater ballistic missiles and the World War II-levels of bomb tonnage

The Nipple Necks were outnumbered in every conceivable way; it's just their colossal arrogance that made them press forward.

Do please recall the sequence where Field Marshal Hodges offered them alternatives (single combat, tank vs mech or a  game of no-limit Texas Hold'em).

They and the Free Worlders are getting 10% of the supporting RCTs for their logistical assistance in the build-up to the battle, and for
Joshua Marik and Thomas Calderon's service on the battlefield

No, they certainly aren't.

The nipplenecks had the bad fortune to lock horns with a superbly-competent U.S Army General officer; someone who wedded the 20th century U.S Army's doctrine of  superior firepower to the logistical base of the Federated Commonwealth...
