Yeah, he's 86 and he's been scoring Star Wars movies for 40 years.  The man deserves to end it if he wants it.

Sounds like, or at least as much as C-3P0 is male... so voice modulator. More importantly, do we care?

honestly.. i think it looks like it has potential. it's a Star Wars Heist Movie, in the same way Rogue One was a Star Wars Commando Movie. that it is Han Solo's origin story is just icing.

also, is anyone else expecting to have Han remark about some embarrassing rumor he'd heard about lando after that "everything you've about me is true" line?

It looks good, lots of potential. I rather wish the Falcon looked a bit more worn, but that's a minor quibble.

When we see her, at least to start, she is the property of a suave businessman who wants to show off a little...of course, she will be pristine...

At the end of the movie? Who knows just what we'll see?

You know, I just cant get excited about this one.  Just feels like making an origin story is going the same route the EU went, which we dont need after TLJ went and went the opposite way.

Me neither..  Even though i did like Rogue one, i just don't think i am much into the Solo film.  May watch it when it hits DVD..

I'm confused by this comment. Are you saying that because The Last Jedi doesn't follow the extended universe, a prequel can't? I don't know what the extended universe had to for Han anyways.

Nothing in the trailer matches what was in the Han Solo trilogy. The broad strokes may be similar, but I'm pretty sure it will be quite different and at least one of the characters cannot have the same ending.

I'm almost disappointed, to be honest, the Han Solo trilogy was one of the better EU series.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me make something abundantly clear: The moderation staff has outright forbidden further commentary, discussions, or attempted humor around the notion of gender demographics, representation, or stereotypes in Star Wars.  Do not bring it up.

If this thread goes the way of the last one, where we have to intervene repeatedly to stop these problems, it will be locked as well.

In other news, is it blasphemy to like the Solo version of the Millenium Falcon more than the 'original' version?  The different dish, the single (heavier?) ventral/dorsal cannon instead of the big quads, and of course that closed up front end.

Yeah kinda expecting that one.  The toxic fandom is really getting out of hand.

You should have seen the FB comments about Daisey Ridley's birthday today.  Zeus damn they were terrible.

My apologies to all for the inconvenience caused.

Just looking at the trailer, Solo looks fun... Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson are in it! Bonus points for not going the "unexpected cover of retro pop song" route and more bonus points for not blasting Beasty Boys or some other rap anthem. I'm going to treat it like an appropriately-SW-themed Fast & Furious-esque heist movie.

I'm also resolving to enjoy it without having my cinematic experience trammeled by ranting rabid fans of either Legends or Disney canon, because I've personally had quite enough of fanatics of both sides excreting all over each other in utterly unironically self-righteous bliss - maybe this is what's called Balancing the Force eh.

Nice to see the Falcon before Han got his grubby tinkering hands all over it. I really want to hear him throw off remarks about how he could mod this and that - and malf it up in typical Han fashion. Check out the poster below - note matching outfits.

For ME. I much preferred the newer trilogy of han novels, to the older ones..  Especially the expansion info on both the hutts and those other 'horned' slug guys..
