Packing error with the Highlander Resculpt
« on: 13 November 2015, 06:38:53 »
I just got my two Highlander Resculpt blister and had to note that there is a mistake with the bits in it.
In both of them i got two left feet and lower legs, but no right ones. I assume the problem with the left lower leg is a minor one, but the feet looking different with the hydraulic on the outside.
I would assume this is not just an issue with the two blister i got. Maybe anyone else had similar issue ? Or at least got my two missing right feet and is missing left feet ?

Contact IWM via phone or e-mail, they'll fix the issue. Their customer service is pretty darned good.

I know that. ;)
I just want to inform in case of a general issue as we had seen in the past (e.g. Ocelot/Valiant legs).

My Highlander came with two left feet, but the correct lower legs.  I was too excited to build it to wait for getting the foot replaced, so I used an exacto knife to carefully cut the the hydraulic off the left side of the foot and glue it on the right side.

Where are you guys getting the resculpts from? Not seeing it on the site.

Mine was missing the lower legs & feet completely but had extra upper arms and a second torso.

Did anyone get any variant parts in their blister? I thought the fan funding paid for variant parts but I didn't get any in my blister.

They are available from retail sellers. New releases usually become available on the IWM site several months later.

How do you tell the difference between the left and right lower leg?

I didn't get any lower legs in my blister so I contacted IWM about replacements.  Received the parts, put the mech together and after reading this thread noticed that I have two of the same feet. The mini is mounted flocked and primed so it doesn't matter much at this point but I'd like to know if I actually received the right parts. At this point it looks like the initial package was wrong and then they couldn't even send me out the proper pieces. Sigh.

I'm not sure, if they are different. The difference on the feet is easy to detect. I have the impression that the lower leg is a bit angled in the vertical. But for sure food and lower leg are part of the same mold piece. So it sounds valid to assume the lower legs will be different.
As soon as i have the right pieces in hand, i can tell. ;)

If I remember the green sculpt corrected, one lower leg was sculpted and then a duplicate was cast for the other side rather than two lower legs being sculpted.

I got two today and no lower legs in either, 3 sets of upper arms, and no variant parts if those were supposed to be there. Not angry, just have to curb my enthusiasm on building them till i get the replacement parts. :)

It sounds like the entire production run was packed incorrectly.  Has anyone noticed any issues with the resculpted Flashman and primative Griffin?

My Flashman looks ok, not having the new Griffin yet.

I don't think the Highlander mini was supposed to have variants in the blister. They looks like new torsos and arms and not plates like the Flashman.

It had 2 optional arms in the pack. I am not sure either. The bits for variants look like just add-ons in the pictures.

Funny we should all buy something when we are not even sure what we should be getting.

I just bought another Highlander.  We'll see if the packaging is right this time.

Of course. It is still a beautiful mini. :)

So true.  That's why I bought another one.  IWM quality has really improved lately.  The LAMs are all fantastic and I can't wait to see what they do with the redone classics.  There have been some size issues to be sure but most of the mechs and vehicles are sized very well.  I think people that complain about IWM mechs haven't bought many recently.  The only real problem that I have had are wrong or missing pieces in blisters.

The flashman was fine. My highlander had two right leg feet and no variant parts, a total of 7 parts (body and 6 sprue's) of a mooted 8.

Planning on getting another one later. So will order straight from them when they get it put up on the site.

I heard back from the wonderful people at IWM. First, they are fixing an issue, then will be sending the parts out. Second, they variant parts are NOT part of the blister. They will be added later is my bet.

To put an end to the rumors over variant parts...check the fan finance thread for the Highlander. All 3 were specifically made as standalone individual miniatures. The 2 variants will be released as an online exclusive at some point. Why they haven't appeared as of yet is anyone's guess.
