[Retcon] Tigershark Down! But not out. After surviving a massive Word attack with multiple nuclear weapons. The CID Tigershark is in a spacedock at an undisclosed system being refitted. Hellraiser, another York-class, has been in shakedown and is ready for action.

News Update: 3110 Tigershark Lost! After an intensive battle, Word forces delivered a final blow to Clan Iron Dolphin at Holding, a minor planet. Using multiple dropships armed with nuclear weapons, they took out IDS Tigershark. While this sets Iron Dolphin back, plans for Tigershark II are being prepared. IDS Hellraiser is reported to be on station in a remote area with the two Odyssey II QT-class Yardships IDS Beluga and IDS Baleen for protection.

News Update: 3122 Tigershark II on active patrol, after taken almost eleven years to construct. Considered the fleet's flagship, she has been outfitted with the best of the best. Being assigned on patrol duty along with four other Jumpships in tow, the IDS Tigershark should preform well. In an after action note, Naval Star Omega, as was the call sign for the taskforce, went on a hunt and destroy mission for an elusive Society / Word of Blake unit that was responsible for the namesake sister ship's demise. There were no zellbrigen batchall issued neither was hegira observed for the dezgra, wouldn't you quineg?

News Update: 3140 A new York-class ship, the IDS Stormrider, has been secretly released to counter the Word of Blake. Built in silence, Stormrider was given a mission to bring the pain to the enemy wherever it was had.

==Overview:==
     Launched in 2747, the Riga Class destroyer/carrier takes its name from a Hegemony frigate design launched more than 300 years earlier. An astounding 26 Riga Class vessels survived the ensuing war, a testament to the capabilities of the new design. In 2890, Clan Iron Dolphin acquired the derelict SLS Tigershark from Clan Nova Cat for a small resource exchange. After extensive modifications to her hull, one being a raised hexagonal brim formed out of armor on the frontside of the ship, where the clan emblem is situated, and the other, the placement of four Kawabata Weapons Industries-class Ultra Autocannon/5 in the nose mount, in replacement to the twin M-7 Gauss rifles. Later the Ultras were replace with clan makes. During the Third Exodus, IDS Tigershark fought a running battle to secure a safe route through hostile space in an attempt to help the clan's jumpships. In the ensuring battles, she was damaged. Now fully repaired at the clan's new homeworld, Freeport, IDS Tigershark supports fleet operations with renewed vigor. Hellraiser is currently the Clan Iron Dolphin fleet flagship and may be so untill Tigershark II is ready for action.

News Update: 3125 IDS ships Bottlenose and Dolphin, are out of action! Reports show a massive explosion thought to be a planted bomb onboard a possible Society controlled Jumbo II, the Mara Panther during a routine goods transfer. Dolphin was disabled when her hull was slammed in by accident when IDS Berilia, a Model-96 Elephant II Tug misjudged the distance. Both should be back in service around the end of next year.

News Update: 3139 IDS Flipper Captured! Reports came after a Word of Blake / Society naval force attacked Watershed Down, a pleasant place honeycombed with warrens large enough for billions to live in peace. Except the naval unit gassed the planet in distracting the defenders from the real prize, the Flipper. The Word now has a new warship, more importantly a recently refurbished one.

==Overview:==
A corvette designed by the Lyran Commonwealth, the Mako-class corvette is a quick, well armed and armored vessel. The vessel's small size and quickness are in stark contrast to conventional Lyran combat doctrines, emphasizing large size to maximize armor and firepower, a doctrine responsible for naval vessels like the Tharkad-class battleship. The Mako serves primarily as an escort vessel for larger fleet movements, but is equally capable as a border garrison or as a lone ship conducting independent operations.

The Mako was produced at the Bolson Shipyards over New Kyoto between 2692 and 2787. During this time, more than 100 Mako-class vessels were constructed. Ever the consummate trading state, the Lyran Commonwealth not only used the Mako extensively, but also sold the ship to forreign powers, including the Terran Hegemony and the Rim Worlds Republic. As a result, Makos fought on both sides of the Amaris Civil War.

As of early 2880 to 2889, Clan Iron Dolphin acquired three of these Mako-class Corvettes and had them modified after their initial Third Exodus run. IDS Flipper and IDS Bottlenose both were badly damaged, but help make good of the rest of the clan's escape. IDS Dolphin, the flagship was thought to be lost when she didn't materialized in the safe zone after the last battle. Feared lost with all hands, she arrived two years later with a small convoy of latecomers. Afteraction reports that even though she was supposed to have jumped, she didn't. She remained behind to escort several civilian jumpships loaded with much needed supplies and equipment. She remained in mobile spacedock for over a year as she was given a major overhaul. She has rejoined the fleet along with newcomer IDS Bluenose, first Mako II to be built.

==Overview:==
     The large Odyssey Class JumpShip has been seen with several Clans, but is notably absent from the fleets of the Wolf and Jade Falcon Clans. The Odyssey carries four DropShips and is equipped with a lithium-fusion battery system. Unlike its closest relatives the Monolith and Leviathan, the Odyssey is a stocky design more reminiscent of the Scout Class JumpShip. A little under three-quarters of a kilometer long, the Odyssey has an average width of 100 meters, rising to 110 at the base of its massive command section, the location of the vessel's two grav decks.

     Like most Clan-designed naval craft, the Odyssey is moderately armed and armored. Energy weapons, extended-range and pulse lasers, dominate its arsenal. Four anti-missile guns line the vessel's sides, providing significant defensive firepower. Four nose mounted Ultra Autocannon/5's discourages attacks on the front of the craft, while the 1,200-meter jump sail hampers attacks on the Odyssey's stern.

Unlike the standard Odyssey, the QT was designed as a Mobile Yardship, she completes the vision until reason is needed for her to act unnatural. Armed with both Naval and Conventional weapons, including the massive Triple A, twelve Ultra Autocannon/5's in the Fore and Aft R/L arcs. This class also has a Trinary of Aerospace fighters, mostly heavy or assault class and another of Battle Armor, for hull deterrence. Is able to repair and build anything up to the 750,000 ton Black Lion II-class PWS, or pocketwarship. Mostly seen floating amids other Odyssey II class jumpships, it would be virtually impossible to find either IDS Baleen or IDS Beluga. Recently in 3138, a new Odyssey II QT was built, named IDS Minke, appearing much like the others, she joined the fleet assets quietly, like any other yardship should. Only difference is she joined a Star of other like minded Odyssey's on a black ops special mission...

     Two Points of Elementals serve as marines aboard the Odyssey. Only the decks in the Odyssey's command section are large enough to allow the use of battle armor, but these ten warriors have been specially trained in zero-G operations and present a formidable defense against boarding attempts. To date no Odyssey has been captured by hostile forces, although a number have been destroyed in combat. ==Overview:==
    The Black Lion battlecruiser entered service with the SLDF in 2691. Although it weighed slightly more than 800,000 tons, the Black Lion could outmaneuver most transports and was capable of 2.5 Gs of acceleration. However, the size and complexity of the Black Lion's drive system made it very difficult to maintain, which reduced the vessel's military value somewhat. Despite that shortcoming, the Black Lion's superior speed, armaments and armor made them a popular choice to head naval battle groups. Although the Black Lion's lack of energy weapons has often been cited as a weakness, the vessel proved quite effective during the Reunification War and later during Kerensky's liberation of Terra. Clan Iron Dolphin took the idea of a Black Lion and made it a smaller version.

Using a radical design approach, they created a more versatile warship using what was on hand. Armed with two Binaries of fighters and Star of the Lamprey-class Mark VIIC Attack Craft, the Black Lion II-classes have been seen patrolling the safe zone, with at least one, the IDS Wolphin, patrolling Freeport, the new clan homeworld. The newest Black Lion II-class PWS, the IDS Pod Master Zimmermann will soon be deployed after her shakedown cruise. Named after late Pod Master Zimmermann, a saKhan of Iron Dolphin, who died heroically during the Third Exodus escape.

==Overview:==
     A common sight during the Star League, system-defense space stations were usually posted along the borders between the member states. The most common system-defense station design is the Bastion-class station, which weighs 150,000 tons and dates to the early days of the Star League. This spherical design measures 345 meters in diameter and boasts a vast array of anti-fighter weapons, as well as an integral complement of a Binary of fighter and a Star of Mark VIIC Landing Craft. The Bastion also contains two large pressurized bays, which makes it an ideal repair station as well.
     
The new Dolphin Pen-class system-defense station, produced by Clan Iron Dolphin, is a maneuverable, dedicated defense platform. The Dolphin Pen carries a number of defensive autocannon, Artemis-equipped missile systems and laser weapons, which can destroy targets of DropShip size or smaller within a few minutes. The SDS's low mass allows a tug to quickly reposition the station to make the most effective use of its firepower. In addition, the low mass and small diameter of the plateform enables it to be transported via JumpShip. In theory, this mobile-defense station can be redeployed to any star system for use in either a defensive or offensive role. However, the operation requires a special adapter on the host JumpShip as well as a tug to maneuver it. Clan Iron dolphin has a anti-warship variant plateform as well, called the Orca Hold.

The navalized Dolphin Pen-class SDS or as it is called, Orca Hold plateforms, are stationed in nearly every major planetary system that the clan has, with a staggering of four of these in the Freeport system only. Acting as waypoint stations for cargo and local defense. Armed with three times the standard conventional firepower as the Dolphin Pen-class. The Orca Hold has twelve of the massive NAC/30's, capable of firing both standard and cluster rounds, which weigh a whopping two and a half tons per salvo, but grant a better dispersal of capital damaging rounds. Each arc is also equipped with three Naval Laser-45's, a pair of Barracuda Capital Missile launchers and dual Dolphin Hide and Dolphin Seek suites, commonly referred as ECM and Probe. Since both classes look alike, one might want to be sure, when attacking, which variant is defending. Nine out of ten times it is a Orca Hold verse a Dolphin Pen. As there are always at least one of each in each clan held system.

==Overview:==
     During the build up of the Star League Navy, a heavy tug class of DropShip was needed to help with their growing fleet of WarShips.  The SLDF Navy Department of Procurement issued a request for bids to design a new DropShip.  The requirements included that not only would it help dock WarShips, but the DropShip would also be used to a support role as an assault DropShip.  Only the design by Nimakachi Fusion Products Ltd. fulfilled the requirements requested, as well as Clan Iron Dolphin, abit modified for their use.

    At the time, the Elephant-class was the largest Tug-class DropShip ever built.  The ship was built around massive PlasmaStar interplanetary Drives capable of an astounding 4Gs of thrust.  This would enable the new DropShip to maneuver the largest of Warships in the SLDF Navy.  The ship was designed with a reinforced bow--a rounded triangle shape that would allow it to mate up most WarShip hulls.  At each point there is a retractable arm with a powerful magnetic locking device attached for securing to the ship.  From the from, the design gave the appearance of an elephant's head, earning the ship its nickname.  The ship was covered with nearly 77 tons of Ferro-Aluminum armor and armed with enough firepower--including bays for a combined arms Trinary--to classify it as an assault ship.

    The DropShip entered service in May 2600.  Just over a hundred of the Model 96's were constructed.  The "Elephant" saw service throughout the Inner Sphere and was attached to several naval fleets, including major yards like Terra's Titan Yards.  During the Amaris Coup of 2766, fifty Elephants helped defend Terran shipyards orbiting Titan, Mars and Venus.  All were destroyed due to overwhelming odds, but not before two squadrons of the Twenty-Third Wing (Little Beavers) destroyed the RWRS Conquistador Dart-class cruiser over Mars in the opening days of the Coup.

   Clan Iron Dolphin modified the the class when it found it needed a Tug for it's forces. Upgrading the dropper to it's standards, it replaced the weapons to include both Standard Star Leaque and Clan technologies. Some of the small craft may or may not be Lamprey-class assualt craft, depending if combat is needed or not.

News Update: 3144 As the Titan-C II's has become an increasing demand from the front-line, thoughts of making a run of a new version is becoming more appealing with each Council meeting. So far it has failed, but momentum is gaining ground faster than before. Demands continue from increasing attacks from other clans using better tech. Recently acquiring this Hyper Assault Gauss and Improved Heavy Lasers has started to make the rounds that Clan Iron Dolphin needs to address these issues soon.

==Overview:==
     The standard clan Titan carries a Trinary of 30 fighters and mounts an impressive array of weaponry that exceeds the arsenal of even the Achilles Class DropShips. These features enable the Titan to operate independently to great effect. However, these same features made Titans prime targets during the Succession Wars. Kuritan fighters destroyed the last Inner Sphere Titan during the series of battles at Cholame, and none survive outside of the Clan fleets.

     Although considered too large to operate with individual units, many Titans act as escorts for WarShips. A few vessels operate independently, acting as system patrol vessels. The Titan's fighter complement occupies three separate flight decks. Each deck houses ten fighters and is capable of operating independently. The Titan's pilot and crew quarters are among the best equipped of any DropShip and provide ample room for personnel to relax between patrols. All of the cabins are single-occupancy, but the pilots of each Point are placed in adjacent cabins and share bathroom facilities. Senior officers' cabins contain computer facilities for administrative work.

     The Titan has a large bridge, which contains an additional post for use by the aerospace commander. This officer is responsible for positioning the ship when launching and retrieving fighters and provides a tactical information feed to each pilot during battle. The Iron Dolphin version differs little in this fact, only exception is a Binary is used as the standard attacking unit, while a Star is kept on CAP duties at all times, defending their charge from all dangers.

==Overview:==
First introduced by the Terran Hegemony in the early decades of the 25th century, Jumbo soon became the name of a general DropShip class rather than the name of a specific DropShip, as manufacturers in every interstellar nation began to design and build their own versions. The Jumbo was born out of a combination of the rapid maturation of naval technologies and design philosophies that the colonisation boom of the 22nd and 23rd centuries had seen along with the spiralling demand to move ever-increasing quantities of cargo to more and more worlds. The Jumbo would answer the escalating shipping costs that a constantly expanding human sphere was generating.

Capable of moving more than ten thousand metric tons of cargo, the Jumbo represented the pinnacle of civilian engineering for the era and would rule the interstellar space lanes for more than 200 years, until they were eventually replaced with the more modern Mule-class DropShip.

Despite being designed for the civilian market, the Jumbo-class of DropShips would move more than their share of military cargo as well during the closing years of the Age of War and the Reunification War, as these hardy ships were capable of surviving limited combat operations and rough handling, and would appear at such events as the Malagrotta Incident and Case AMBER.

==Capabilities:==
The Jumbo-class of DropShips mounts two medium lasers in every arc, with two Ultra AC/5s mounted in the nose and another in each of the foreward arcs. 4 tons of ammunition keep the Ultras supplied for brief engagements, and the ship's hull is protected by 39.5 tons of standard armor. The Jumbo carries four Life Boats and two escape pods. While the Star of small craft aboard the Jumbo were largely an upgrade of the holdover from previous DropShip designs that used small ships and cargo shuttles for unloading, these bays also give operators some flexibility when using a Jumbo-class vessel.

Clan Iron Dolphin modified their Jumbo IIs as soon as they had the resources. They carry with them in their cargoholds a mixed Star of Cargomechs, mostly Daedalus GTX2A's and BFFL Buffalo II's, large hovercraft with the capacity of moving 40 tons in a single haul compared to the Daedalus's thirty, to help facilitate ease of cargo transfers.

==Overview==
   While most clans have uses for Overlord C, Union C and Broadswords for their fleet manuvers and common raids. We Iron Dolphins have a much better system that we use, the very dauntless Lion II-class series dropship. Both Marks, I and II, have the exact same profile to deter enemies from getting a positive lock. All they'll know is that a Lion II has landed but not no which variant untill she either spits her cargo out or disgourge after grounding.

   Mark I has a Binary of Mech and another of Vehicles as well as two Stars of Infantry, one of Battle Armor and another Star of Standard. This bay is able to carry up to 125 Foot, or any combination of Infantry allowed. As an added measure the Lion II carries with her an intergrated Arrow artillery for troop support and as mobile ADA defense, to protect the landing site and the surrounding area. It is a common sight to see three Lion II's in a standard cluster. Two being Mark I's and the other a Mark II.

  While most clans have uses for Overlord C, Union C and Broadswords for their fleet manuvers and common raids. We Iron Dolphins have a much better system that we use, the very dauntless Lion II-class series dropship. Both Marks, I and II, have the exact same profile to deter enemies from getting a positive lock. All they'll know is that a Lion II has landed but not no which variant untill she either spits her cargo out or disgourge after grounding.

   Mark II has a Binary of Mech, a Star of Light Vehicles as well as a full Trinary of Infantry, two Stars of Battle Armor and another Star of Standard. This bay is able to carry up to 125 Foot, or any combination of Infantry allowed, also included is a bay for a full Trinary of Protomechs.  As an added measure the Lion II carries with her an intergrated Arrow artillery for troop support and as mobile ADA defense, to protect the landing site and the surrounding area. It is a common sight to see three Lion II's in a standard cluster. Two being Mark I's and the other a Mark II.

Tagged for future reference.

Side not truetanker Active Probes and ECM suits have no impact on anything bigger than small craft.  DropShips and WarShips have way to powerful in built EM systems.

  And to make matters worse and the enemy quessing, the Mark III has recently been deployed. Built as a mobile area-denial, firesupport and Anti-PWS asset, the Mark III has a single Nova Star for ground defense. What makes this vessel shine are the Tri Arrow Launchers and the Quad Barracudas. Able to throw a lot of firepower downrange and upstairs, the Lion IIC can deter any enemy.

Yes, but not in 3050, where I have this AU setting, well 3075 now. WoB forces have a MD Shadow Division here and I have a Micro- Inner Sphere as well.

It's my pleasure! :) You inspired me, i've been thinking of and slowly working on the text of another Battletech book (the PDF side will be a problem as my friend who did the last one is not available this time round) and I was thinking about a pre-revival Assault dropship that i've tentatively called the Roc.  I've based it on the Noruff with the same performance and an idea of the same level of protection, but I want to swap the armour into lamelor-Ferro-Carbide to provide the same protection level, but I assume it would be lighter which could them be used to make up for the mass differences in the weapons of the two.  The Roc devotes 267 tons towards weapons whereas the Noruff devotes 224 tons although the Roc runs cooler.  So I'm hoping that the 43 ton difference. I doubt it does fully, but that could be fixed with a bit of fiddling to one of the cargo bays.
