I have two questions regarding the Asteroid rules found on page 45 of StratOps:
1: What is the roll needed for 'non-moving' units to avoid colliding with an asteroid that enters their hex? By 'non-moving', I refer to units that are tactically immobile but in-universe are capable of movement using station-keeping drives or maneuvering thrusters such as JumpShips and Space Stations, as well as unmanned satellites. Are they treated the same as 'mobile' Large Craft(perhaps with a different modifier), or do they automatically fail the roll(in which case we need a flat MoF to determine damage taken)?
2: Just how big are the Small, Medium, and Large Asteroids? While I acknowledge that actual size may vary widely based on density and composition of a given space rock(a Large chunk of solid nickel-iron may be physically smaller than a Medium clump of silicate gravel), is there anything remotely resembling a ballpark size we could be given? I ask because I'm considering creating an aero scenario that revolves around the classic 'stop the asteroid' sci-fi trope, but am not sure if the rocks the rules describe are big enough for this. I'm certain a dino-killer is probably beyond the scope of these rules, but would like to know if they would cover a city-buster or some other catastrophe-creating rock, such as the one that struck Arkab, or the ones that Erinyes was chucking around during the Jihad.
Thanks!
