Timber Wolf A
« on: 24 January 2012, 22:44:44 »
Hello, all!
I'm not sure if I should have introduced myself before posting something like this, but I'd like to show off my Timber Wolf A conversion. Arms and missile launcher are IWM parts, naturally, and the three MPLs are made from brass and plastic stock. It's very close to done, but any comments or suggestions before I move on to the priming and painting stage would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Nostra

It's actually a very expertly-done conversion, really nice work!

LOVE IT! The mountings are fantastic. Great kitbash!

My only critique is that the Pulse laser barrels seem a bit long for mediums. But that's just my opinion.

VERY NICE!

I have been pondering this same bash for awhile now. I gotta say, I'm a little bummed with IWM and the way they have done omni parts for the Timberwolf. The fact that I just spent 12.95 on a mini, now have to pay another 4 bucks for a modified torso so the new arms will work? Not cool.

This is indeed a 1st post that's likely to draw some notice!
Need I add that I find it awesome? Neat and simple, congrats!  O0

What did you use for the laser mountings? Bolts and plasticard?

this is why I will email them and ask if I can just have the stock torso replaced with the modified one before I order.

I didn't even know that's how that worked. I used the stock torso and arms- one PPC came from a Summoner I converted to the H configuration, and I ordered a spare Summoner E left arm. I sawed the Timber Wolf arms and Summoner arms apart at the elbow, then drilled and pinned the PPCs onto the TW upper arms.
What did you use for the laser mountings? Bolts and plasticard?
1/16" round brass tubing nested in 3/32" hexagonal brass tubing, capped with slices of 2.5mm hexagonal plastic rod and a mounting bracket made of 1/16" plastic sheet.

I'm really encouraged by the responses I've gotten here. Once I get my current batch painted (this, a TW Prime, the aforementioned Summoner H, a Blood Asp Prime, and a Blood Asp A) I'm thinking of taking on a Blood Asp G for my next conversion.

+1. I'd make them a little shorter but nice work.

Thank goodness it's not just me. I was starting to feel like a heel for giving a critique.
