The After-Action After-Action Report - and the Aftermath
« on: 27 January 2011, 02:17:58 »
[Keifer] The following events take place between 26 December, 2010 and 24 December, 2011.  Events take place in something we will pretend vaguely resembles real-time. [/Keifer]

Let the record show that I, GreenDragon, do attest, upon the Unfinished Book and upon pain of Death, that the following is a true and factual accounting.  Firstly, due to some problems in upper-echelon communications, the Escort mission that should have occurred on the night of 24 December, 2010 was never launched.  As a resort Red Sleigh One was shot down by enemy operatives over Northern Canada, and Fat Man was declared MIA.
It was at this point that several individuals, repsresenting various nations and Forum Sub-boards, did undertake an unathorized rescue op.  We located the crash site, and came under fire.  Clearly the enemy had extensive, previously undocumented, artillery assets.
Fat Man, and his Bag were located.  And the extraction was imminent.  Then Fat Man turned on us.  The Enemy have turned him.  Worse, in the wake of the Forum Collapse, he got away.  Fat Man could be anywhere, on any planet or dimension, plotting absolute mayhem for next Xmas.  At this moment, we have 11 months to locate him and prevent the enemy from co-opting the holiday entirely.

I, Scotty, operational callsign Loo, was on the team that originally went in after Fat Man, representing the Board Game and MegaMek Sub-boards.  Providing cover fire from an orbiting gunship, I saw almost the entire action.  It was a massacre.
Fat Man was easy to find, and we had a tracking device in the bag.  Someone had started wishing real hard to find him, and that was that.  What we weren't prepared for was the resistance.  I've seen AAA, and almost this much of it, but that's in a damn warzone, not the boonies!  Anyway, I watched helpless as the ground team circled for extraction, and he gunned them all down.  One of the 'deer, Blitzen, had gotten out uninjured, and Fat Man bolted on him.
The gunship tried to swing after him, but unburdened by the sleigh, we couldn't even stay in range of the 'deer for more than a few seconds, and he was gone.
I knew those men.  Fat Man is gonna pay, and I'll track him through space and time itself if I have to.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

GB Gurdel jumps into a waiting J-27 Transport. "Hey how do I drive this thing again?! Oh, the right pedal, of course"

*As the J-27 drives into a tree the resulting explosion is visible from orbit*

Hey guys.  I think we're lost.  Anyone know how to find 90oN latitude?  It would be very embarassing to have to stop at the next Quik-Stop for directions.

ooc: I think I have about 3 BT related pics - based on one of the characters in that gallery.  I think I know where to find those and I may actually post them here in the fan art section. I've posted some BT related ones in the Fan Art section.
