Any plans for PV re-evaluation?
« on: 08 February 2014, 10:13:41 »
I was thinking about getting into Alpha Strike since the paperwork is slow and annoying in battletech, but despite receiving positive reactions, there seems to be alot of broken features of this game. Predominantly PV. Most other things can be overlooked, but the PV is unacceptable.

There are literally units with the same abilites/dmg/move that have different PVs or cases where a weaker unit is drastically more expensive.

Has catalyst made any mentions of plans to officially revise the PV into something more representative of the cards actual stats?

Catalyst is definitely aware of the issue.

So, I'm guessing the company hasn't made any mention either way?

I am guessing that since "PV re-evaluation" had been the top suggestion for the AS companion, CGL will address it. The real question will beif it's sooner rather than later.

No, there's been no formal comment on it.

Yes, we'll be releasing a new PV system for public beta test very soon. The system is ready, I just need time to run through it one last time and make it presentable.

Yes!! My interest had waned a bit after trying to slog through balancing games so hearing this certainly put a smile on my face.

As long as you're willing to listen to us.  ;D  I'll be glad to ditch my efforts in favor of yours, but we players gonna be cutthroat about its beta if it's to be a serious, balanced system. My personal attitude is these two panels from a Knights of the Dinner Table comic:
