Title: Clan Iron Dolphin
Post by: truetanker on 29 January 2011, 13:45:00
Dang darn hackers... curse you!

Hello! I am Khan Truetanker and this is my thread, Clan Iron Dolphin. Please pardon the mess as I try to get things back from the old site up and running. It may take awhile, but I'll have a Touman for you to see.

History: AU Style

When the Great Father created the Clans, he created 25 of them originally. Of them only 18 are still much present to this day, circa 3100. Clans Wolf and Falcon fought a battle almost every day for the right to lead in everything, while Sea Fox and Snow Leopard trying to outbid each other in transportation rituals. Nova Cats and the Scorpions were always out stoning themselves for fame and glory, while we, Iron Dolphin sought the tranquility of the Trial for it held destiny to the victor.

After Operation : Klondike and the Golden Years saw a more pronounced way of life. On Dagda, with our clan in support, we saw the ferociousness of Clans Widomaker, Wolverine,  Jaguar and Burrock at their best. Decimating the local population in retaliation for the perceived use of atomics, they fell onto the Exiled settlers with vengeance. If they had the foresight to see thru their rage, they might have had a different viewpoint. As it was, the local reactors where weakend from the continual orbital bombardment and the ensuing tectonic plates was being hammered from pressures below causing a rip in the earth of which the epicenter was just below the nuclear sight. As radioactive magma burst spewed out and into the waiting ranks the horrific retribution began.

We were shocked at the death toll and vowed never to use such forces unless it was called forth onto us. After Dagda, we were called to Arcadia to again support.  This time it was Clans Falcon, Wolf, Adder and Viper. Since Falcon and Wolf always tried to out lead each other, we spent our time honing our skills in the wakes of the Adder and Viper. They showed us how to bid for time for action later, of this we thank them. Upon approaching the capital of Arcadia, we showed our mettle against the brutish assaults of cityfighting. Carring the day, and the Possesion trial, we assaulted the city with care and vigor. The Great Father smiled upon us as we captured the city in his name.

We are Clan Iron Dolphin : Vigor and spirit, hand in hand for all time.

History: The Not-Named, the Widomaker and the Mongoose : Fate or fortune?

When the treachery of a clan goes to far, what does one do besides calling for a Trial of Annihilation or an Absorption? We were faced with these crisis after our kinsmanship. The Not-Named were in fact our closest allies, but do we stand with them? The answer was both appealing yet a horrific adventure to date. We sided with them in denying their attacks,  but berated their friendship towards us. In a cunning aspect, since the Grand Counsel denied any Not-Named genes to pass, we adopted the Bloodname Fallstaff as part of our Clan heritage. Stating that we shared bloodrights to this name since our founding. In that adverseness caused us to be shamed in the eyes of our fellow trothkin, so be it. We are proud of such heritage and prestige, aren't you?

In the matters of Widowmaker and Mongoose, we threw Trials of Possesion for certain bloodnames and equipment. Of which we won at some cost. We have Conners and Rhyde from Widowmaker and Turiza and Telinov from Mongoose.

History: Operation Revival, Tukayyid and the end of a clan

We were not so fortunate to take part of this historical aspect. In reality we choose not to invade the Sphere, figuring when the time was ready we will be. We quietly explored our region of space looking for more resources and such. When news of Clan Jaguar use of Orbital Bombardment to pacify a world reached us, we were very much angered about this. Citing historical documents, we called for Trials of Possesions against the Jaguar. In the ensuing chaos of those trials, we claimed many bondsman and material.

When the last Trial of Possesion was called against the Spheroids and the target was Terra, Comstar Khan, Anastasius Focht, led a brilliant defense against the Clans. In the aftermath, Clan Jaguar was no more, having been defeated by the very Inner Sphere forces it tried to destroy. Many Jaguars tried to run, only to find escape impossible. Whole units cried surkai, the right of forgiveness, and asked to be Iron Dolphin isola instead of the alternative. Many of our fine warriors won the Reaving.

History: Refusal War and the Harvest Trials : Good omens and Bad luck

After the defeat of a clan and the end of the Invasion of the Sphere, Clans Wolf and Falcon where as business as usual. They were trying to vile for leadership, claiming their victories were better. Falcon accused the Wolf of losing the Invasion, and Wolf the same. It became a time known as the Refusal War. Wolf lost so much of its forces to the Falcons, it almost died. The Falcons on the other hand looked more like a frail Finch then a mighty Falcon. To ensure survival, each called out for Warriors from any clan to join them. Many flocked because they wanted to be in one of the Clans that sent fear into the Spheroids heart. We saw an opportunity to join, but our leaders thought otherwise. The Bears were sniffing around while Clans Raven and Horses where on the warpath within.

We were indicted for non-clanlike actions, and the proof was impeccable against us. Clan Hellion and Mandrill, once in full cooperation of each other, condemned us of suppling and hoarding Bandit Caste in our territories. We were forced to fight a Trial of Absorption from both. At least we had some fallback measures. Clan Iron Dolphin made a mass Exodus to the Deep Periphery.

New Beginnings

After our Exodus from the Homeworlds we set up in a Pocket Nebula located in the Caliban Nebula itself. Within the massive nebula lies our salvation.

Working with the Dark Caste, huh. You sure the whole thing wasn't set up because you were dealing with Burrock and Burrock was dealing with you. Both Clans got accused of the same thing because somebody got jealous.

Clan Iron Dolphin Infantry

We use a variety of Infantry forces in our Touman, from the lowly footgrunt to the elite Battle Armor. Each aspect of our clan's Infantry is used.

Clan Anti-Infantry : our " Police " force that help protect our citizens from themselves.
Clan Space Marine : our answer to the spacetrooper!
Clan Heavy Foot Infantry : our best of the best in unaugmented defense.
Clan Heavy Jump Infantry : while this so-called " Bearhunter " is unfamiliar to us, we use a similar weapon called " Krillhunter " among our forces.
Clan Mechanized AA-Infantry : one has to look up once in awhile, quiaff?
Clan Fast Recon : better to know what is over that hill than charge needlessly.
Clan Assault Infantry : when dying is not an option.
Clan Combat Engineer Infantry : Similar to the Capellean forces, our use of them is to build our fortications and other buildings.

Our Battle Armor is still the standard Toad variant with an exclusive Iron Dolphin variant, Crab Battle Armor.

Coral Infantry Armor : Armor Divisor 2 ( TW )
Krill (P)AL Scout / Watch Armor
Crab Battle Armor
Elemental Battle Armor
Fiddler Crab Assault Battle Armor

Continued from above

New Beginnings

After our Exodus from the Homeworlds we set up in a Pocket Nebula located in the Caliban Nebula itself. Within the massive nebula lies our salvation as we try to harness the future. During one of our survey scans earlier in our history, an Odyssey commanded by an ex-Goliath Scorpion Seeker turned Iron Dolphin, Senior Pod Commander Jon Conners discovered the planetoid Holdover. Part of our now escape corridor, it became a base of operations to quickly scout the area. Seeking resources, he discovered a local settlement that traded him a more accurate Star Map of the Nebula for much needed foodstuffs.

As more of our Clan enter this region to help explore, we found remnants of other civilizations, fearing escaped Pentagon Rebel resurgent, we prepared for Operation Klondike II. Seeking to hold unto these new holdings, we didn't pass onto Grand Council of our activities. Finding out that they left the Inner Sphere centuries after the Great Father abandoned it shocked us. What sent ripples in our ranks was the fact they saw us as saviors, not conquerors. With many seeking our hand in friendship, we saw many dezgra acts of unclansmenship. Many negative epithets, backstabbing dealings, counter productiveness and worse, mass slaving of indigenous peoples for profit. We gave them surkairede as we prepared them for isorla.

Operation: Klondike II

Our clan leaders at the time, Khan Sabrina Avery and saKhan Xu Moon, took our forces on an excursion to recon a possible invasion course. Finding many pirates hailing from Emaciated, her units succeeded in taking the planet with minimal loses on our side. Zellbrigen every one to a Trial of Possesion, even when they surfaced nuclears. Many bondcords were given out, few received abtakha even fewer where given hegira that day. Even today, the technicians still are cleaning up the planetoid's taints.

During our initial surveys, we found several planets that where abandoned, apparently due to lack of foodstuffs or medical, in one case the planet's own volcanic tectonic plates erupted, causing a massive fallout that destroyed the biosphere. On Watershed the populace revolted against their overlords and presented us their planet, as we were entering orbit. After falling, word reached Rockface, a planet whose system held massive mineral rights of the rare Germanium ores needed for the construction of Kearny-Fuchida Drives, the backbone of any Jumpship. Upon hearing that Clan Iron Dolphin was looking to trade, Rockface forces tried to trial for our IDS Tigershark, the York-class destroyer-carrier. They failed to honor the bid and for that they forfeited their rights.

SaKhan Moon stood to gain from this momentous occasion, but chose not to. Having to lead by example, he chose to step down and let a much older and wiser Hugh Steiner step up. See Steiner was a bondsman to Xu, and made a contract that he could do a better job in securing Rockface. Xu was furious, but Hugh prevailed until Sabrina stepped in to settle the argument. " Let see what he can do, quiaff? " reportedly stated. Offering the York-class as isorla, Steiner commanded his Binary of Secondline Royal units to fall unto Rockface's combatants. Using a Nova of medium-heavy forces with another supporting Star of tracked units, Hugh fought the heavily Reinforced Company of Rockface units. Consisted of Marauders and Warhammers with Archers for firesupport, the Rockface unit was slow, mostly due to low end fusions, barely cruising 36.2 km/h.

By losing the bid, the Rockface commander defied Hugh his dues. Hugh simply asked that the bid be examined by the population. On one hand, the bid stated if Iron Dolphin loses, Rockface gets the ship, but if they lose Iron Dolphin gets the planet. By winning and losing, it was meant victory or defeat by Rockface standards... running away from an active battle was considered defeat, which is what the commander did in his Warhammer.

More news from the front...

On Rabbits Feet and a Wing of a Prayer!

During a recent attack on the planet of Watership Down, the combined naval forces of the Word of Blake and their allies, the Society, deployed a gas bombardment on the peaceful populace below. Killing hundreds of thousands and injuring millions with an aerosol delivered Phosgene derivative, all in an act to cover their tracks from the real goal, the stealing of Mako-class IDS Flipper. From it's unknown location a savior appears, that of the newest York-class IDS Stormrider. Hot on the trail of the gasser unit that decimated Watership Down in late December 3139. Stormrider was released secretly a few months later in February 3140 to track them down.
