I was pondering about the King Crab IIC and realized it could be upgraded with Clan technology quite easily. And it would fit the Clan style of warfare quite well as it is focused on beating other 'Mechs to scrap, it is a good duelist.
Now, canonically the Clans turned the concept of the King Crab into the Supernova. So i'm thinking this hypothetical King Crab IIC would've been a short lived 'Mech sometime during the Golden Century. A Clan is facing hard times, and while gathering their strength, they'd re-arm themselves by pulling some old Star League 'Mechs from some Brian Cache and upgrading them with modern technology.
Thus, we get the King Crab IIC (standard), based on the original King Crab and its Royal upgrade.
The weapons are replaced with Clan equivalents, with the old AC/20s being replaced with Ultra AC/20s with two tons of ammo per cannon, acceptable amount for Clan duels. Since these swaps leave quite bit of weight available, the King Crab IIC features more double heat sinks, and the joker on the deck is the Targeting Computer. Finally, weight freed by using Clan CASE and Clan Ferro-Fibrous allows upgrading the armor to nearly maximum.

Of course, the same cache contains also some King Crab KGC-010. These are likewise upgraded with Clan technology.
The King Crab IIC 2 uses Endo-Steel rather than Ferro-Fibrous armor. Each arm has a LB-10X, and each torso has an ER PPC and a Streak SRM-6. The cooling array is upgraded as well. The 2-variant does not have as much ammo as the original 010 but it has enough for Clan needs.

Ultimately, there might be need for something different as well, or perhaps the Clan ran short on AC ammo. So, techs strip the King Crab IIC's autocannons and re-arm it.
The King Crab IIC 3 is quite different beast from its progenitors, with primarily missile based armament. Each arm sports a LRM-20 with Artemis IV and three tons of ammo. The LRM-15 is still there but with extra ton of ammo. The ER Large Laser got a twin, and they're tied to a Targeting Computer. Finally, the 'Mech gained a pair of Anti-Missile Systems, and it also learned to jump with installation of three jump jets, though the 'Mech is ultimately poorly suited for jumping (insert some appropriate negative quirk here). [The AMS are there because i didn't have any good ideas and decided to follow the example of early Clan Omnis and their ridiculous AMS amounts.]
