So, was perusing the Vehicle Effectiveness section of TAC-OPs, and noticed this section:
Ground Combat Vehicle Hit Location Table
• Remove the critical result from the “8” die roll result on the Side column.
• Remove the potential motive system damage from the “9” die roll result on the Front, Rear and Side columns.
Is this
only the "9" die roll?
Based on the Hit Location table (attached) (page 193 TW), this would mean that a vehicle hit from the front will never suffer a motive hit to the Left Side, but a hit to the Right side will always suffer a potential motive hit, and an attack from the Rear will always suffer a potential motive hit on the Left side, but never the right, and side hits always affect the front, never the rear.
Is this correct? Would it not make more sense for one of the following:
1. Have die results of both 5 & 9 ignore motive
or
2. Continue to have 5 call for a Motive Hit, but make die rols of 5 & 9 be a 50/50 chance of affecting Left/Right or Front/Rear?
Either option eliminates the silly result of attacking from the Front is bad for a vehicle's Right Side.
