Size of DA/AoD BA?
« on: 19 January 2012, 10:44:02 »
Exactly how tall are the DA/AoD Ravager Battle Armor, not counting base and terrain? I ask because the new IWM ones are much larger than I expected, and was wondering if the plastics were of a similar size.

Also, any other plastic BA that scales well with metal minis? I've already set up several bases with plastic Purifiers, Gnomes, and Hauberks, for example.

Thanks!

The DA Fa Shih, Salamanders, and other single-armor-to-a-base guys are generally too big for CBT. The others fit in nicely though (exempting Angerona and Thunderbird and IS Standard BA I guess).

The Ravager is about the same size as my old metal Satyr Protos.

Agreed on the Fa Shih, I'm planning to convert some into protomechs. As for the others, do you have any precise measurements, say in inches or mm?

I'll get some pics on the weekend, and I just got over $60 of  $0.50 purchases delivered last night. The DA Ravager is Protomech-size - looks like it'd give an Unseen Stinger or Locust a run for its money.

As well as the ones you mention - although I find the DA Purifiers a little small for a medium suit - the DA Grey Death standard and scout, Infiltrator II, Kage and Raiden are pretty good. The DA Longinus is a little bulky but works; the DA Achileus is kinda big (same size as the Longinus), and the DA IS Standard just on the cusp of being too big. The DA Kanazuchi is big, but because it's squat it works (it's not fat, it's just big boned ;) ) The DA Salamander is too big, but not unworkably.

Like I said, pics on the weekend.
