Mechwarrior in the bush
« on: 02 July 2011, 20:48:36 »
call this the nerdiest thing you have heard or lame or what have you but myself and my two best buds went camping last weekend
we had to portage our canoe up a muddy hill through a forest in the rain, then do the same trip four times with our fishing gear, tents, booze, food and everything, then we had to canoe over to an island.....long story short we played alot of mechwarrior on the natural terrain, the whole weekend we didn't see another soul on the lake. it wasn't all we did, we enjoyed our fishing and just sitting around but it was a first for me to bring a table top game out of the house....it was great

One could make a convincing argument that this could be the start of a new extreme sport called "Extreme Mechwarrior". It could be up there with extreme ironing or something.

Extreme Mechwarrior:
game held atop Delicate Arch (Arches National Park)
game on top of Devil's Tower
game held ON THE SIDE of El Capitan (Yosemite)
zero-G game (courtesy of NASA "vomit-comet")
I'm all for this.
...
Actually, I'd be more for "natural terrain" games in the woods. Sounds like a blast!

I thought that this was the funnest parts of the Mechwarrior CCG. I remember playing with my nephew and just pulling things down like Lincoln Logs (It was fun to make the city), dishes, and cups.
