Old Website content search: Naval Archive
« on: 15 November 2018, 18:07:31 »
Ages ago there was a website with a ton of naval designs that dated back to the earliest days of the age of war.

Does any one have copies of that material or links to the site.

I can't for the life of me find it. I just remember the write ups being excellent.

Thanks,

Kindalas

Every time this comes up I feel this totally unjustified sense of flattery.  ;D

I still have backups of everything that got posted there (I think? They've been moved a lot since the old computer they were stored on. Some might have been lost?) in a mix of formats. All the ones I designed are in text, but ones made by the other folks involved in the old Archive were in a mix of text and HTML format.

Also, my math was bad back in the day (it still is, but now I can blame the errors on design software).

Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

If you find them I'd really like to see them again.

I know I have a bunch saved but for some reason I never thought to grab them all.

IIRC RedPins had a huge archive of fanon material somewhere...

EDIT: most were Manuals and Readouts and things but I could be wrong....

Do you have the links? Because I don't know what the original URL was.

This is fascinating; thank you!

Liam's Ghost; are these all yours?
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.

Me, Takiro, Wolfcannon, and Lrose all contributed.

(I hope I haven't forgotten anybody?)
