Marauder
« on: 26 April 2011, 16:33:56 »
This is the first reseen marauder i've painted.  I have to say i like the sculpt but the paint job didnt come out exactly as i had imagined.  I was trying to copy a wolverine's coat (the animal) cause theyre AWESOME, its like a bear-dog.  Anyway here she is, I had a whole reseen lance to do but i think im going to try something else for the rest.

I like those colors a lot. I think you're a highlight and wash cycle away from perfection there (but sometimes it's hard to get highlights to show up in photos very well, so it might already be perfect!).

While I prefer the unseen Maddie, this looks very good.  I like the idea of representing a kickin' animal.

Saying this kindly, it does, however, look like it's walking on chocolate frosting  ;D

((nods)) nice : ) I think it's the base that looks the most like chocolate.

These Marauders are hard to paint because of an off shape and lack of panel lines. At least that is what I found during the two attempts I had done so far.

You have done a great job! I agree that a little wash and some better lighting for the camera and this jewel will shine!

I'll go ahead and be the heretic here: I think the reseen marauder mini is nicer than the unseen. Nice job with it!

Blasphemer!!! *thud... falls over from a heart attack*

Actually, the Reseen are growing on me. I've stuck a second one in my basket as well as a Marauder II so round out my collection of them

I like both of them too. The one I really don't like is the older IIc model that looks like a catfishlobstercrab. The newer II's are nice though. I've got one of these reseens but haven't had the motivation to glue it together yet. I still hate the assembly process (but, of course, I like enough parts so I can pose them in something resembling an action stance, so I'm always conflicted).

I agree. that base does look an awful lot like chocolate icing. The mech itself looks good. I agree with the reseen being a nice looking mini. A bit of a pain in the but to assemble to get the legs holding it up, but she's nice all the same.

Came out pretty well, the reseen version doesn't bother me to much. It feels a bit to blocky but I can call it a Marauder.
I don't set an example for others. I make examples of them.
