I just got my new Resculpt Cauldron Born. [watch]
-
But there is one part where i'm totaly puzzled. :o
It is on the same sprue than the hip - so i assume it really belongs to the Cauldron.
But i've no idea where to put it on. :D
First i thought it is the lone med laser. But i think this is already attached on the LRM.
Any ideas ? Pictures of a build mini ? IWM online store pic doesn't help.
-
My guess would be on the torso somewhere. After you add the shoulder boxes, are there any places it might fit? Under the chin, perhaps?
-
PM Psycho, he sculpted it O0
-
To clear all approval hurdles, the focus of the resculpt shifted from alternate configurations to matching the art - ie, making the prime. The laser is a leftover from the earlier aims and does not go with the prime configuration. Sawbones previously posted that the alternate parts had been lost, but this one must have slipped in with the prime's parts.
-
Spare laser? Woot!
Wish I'd seen this earlier, I could have used a couple of those when I kitbashed a Shadow Cat C a while back...

Cauldron-Born... now with hips and spare parts for your bits box!!! ;D ;DYou can't wish more for less!!! :)) :)) No, seriously, it is a cool sculpt. You are a great sculptor. O0 O0 O0

Thanks for that clarification - it helps much to avoid headache. ;)

If you put the EJ's hips in your bits box rather than use it on the model I weep for your soul.

??? ??? I meant to use the hips and the spare laser to the bits box. I'm sorry if I didn't say in a clear way.
-
Sorry, forgot to post pics of the build Cauldron. Made also some pics for size comparison.
-
As i dont like the long turrets for the torso weapons i decided to shorten them.
-
And as last pictures some other angles for size comparison with the modified version.
-
Wotan, would you mind putting up a pick or two comparing it some other minis? I've got an original Cauldron Born but I'm really uncertain of the increased height (really liked that low slung look) and can't make the comparison in my head. Thanks.
-
Amazing! Never thought I would be buying on of these....
-
Meh. I dont like this resculpt. I will be sticking to the original sculpt myself. To me this thing looks nothing like an Ebon Jaguar.
-
Loving the look of it. Can't wait to get mine!

No problem. Just choose some other older and newer mechs of 65t. Remember the base of my Resculpt ended up little higher than usual. So it fits in the high i think. But it's clearly on the bulkier side.

my wife is going to love this mini.Is it out in the stores yet or is it just from the web site?

It's a online exclusive on IWM website. Will not be in distribution.

Are the arms and weapon pods interchangable? Id like to get the A from the BH companion and turn the new one into the A.
-
The BH version is based on the old sculpt. I haven't tried, but i would assume the parts will not fit - and at least they will look a little small on the Resculpt.
-
Thanks!
-
Oh, man...all these cool new toys.
Thanks for posting pics!

I ordered 2 of the New sculpts of the Ebon Jaguar one to do this with and after looking at the parts I thought the A parts would not look quite right on the new sculpt. However If you really want to look for yourself I'm sure later I'll have the time to either put the parts side by side or "temporary" assemble the mix and take a picture of it (once I find my camera).

Id like to see the mock up please.

Ok I'll see if I can get it up Friday or Saturday (found camera just need to find the time which the weekend should provide).

Stingray, how does it scale next to the bash I sent you? Seems like they are about the same?

Considering I have not assembled one yet hard to say but if you like I can take a snap shot of that as well.
-
No pressure sir, when you have the time is great.
-
I like both sculpts. but I do like how this one is a little bigger and way more poseable.
I have to agree about the torso pods looking a little long though. looks like it's an easy enough fix though O0
*heads to the online store*

Na, that's not unnecessary. I was mainly just wondering if the parts looked to be about the same scale. Thanks though.
-
almost ordered one today, but got the BH Companion pack instead
-
Ok here you go: Sadly the way the parts are made IF you want to do this it will require a good bit of cutting for the arms. Also the putty didn't work out so hot wasn't using the right type most likely :p

thats actually not too bad. Thank you.
-
I bought one over a year ago (busy with work and forgot about it for a bit) and I'm pretty sure it didn't come with a base. Would the base from the 20-758 Cauldron Born work for this?
-
Base as in a hex base? If so, a regular hex base should work.

Personally I prefer plastic ones but to each their own.
-
Love the resculpt... never had any issue with the first one, but this one is stellar and looks great!! Stellar job
-
+1,100. i have 2 of the originals, no major complains (other than the 4 models not surviving combat on the table during two game sessions). i had more troubles with my second Linebacker, mostly with the legs.

Actually where the feet of the mech are, that base.
