Shrapnel #8, Better Days

"12 December 3015"
Issue: Anton was dead and buried by December 3015. Brush Wars (pp. 25-26 & 37) have Abadan being attacked October 3014.
Correction: Adjust date to 12 October 3014

"They’d been on Holt when the Fifth Regulan Hussars arrived...That had been scarcely two months ago."
Issue: Brush Wars (p. 37) has initial Holt attack as September 3014
Correction: Change to "That had been scarcely a month ago."

Shrapnel #15, A lesson learned
p.12, 1st sentence
"the Legion's customary camouflage pattern, grays and greens"

Issue: There's no green in the GDL paint scheme, per CSO.
Suggested correction: "the Legion's customary camouflage pattern, gray on gray"

Shrapnel #14, Campaign: Water Raid.

Page 193 and 194.  At the end of the Special Conditions section add "Add a cumulative +1 to the dice roll for every roll after the first"

(another cry for no matter how many editing passes you do, do one more!)

Unit Digest: Tarantulas Battalion, p. 139

Quote
When the Tarantulas were assembled in 3129, they followed the template set by General Cameron: three Stars of fast heavy and assault OmniMechs, three Stars of Elementals, fifteen hovertanks, and a wing of aerospace fighters.

Fifteen should be changed to forty-five.

Quote
Like their sister battalions, the Tarantulas doubled their ground forces, expanding to the size of a full Clan Cluster.

This should be changed to "Like their sister battalions, the Tarantulas doubled their 'Mech and battlesuit forces, and cut their hovertank contingent by a third. They were now nearly the size of a full Clan Cluster."

As the author of this article I probably should have caught this before it was published, but c'est la vie.

Shrapnel #16

Interior art credits, p. 2

Duane Loose is listed. I do not see any of his art in this issue. The Texas-class battleship pictured on pp. 116-117 originally appeared in Technical Readout: 2750 and (I believe) is credited to Dana Knutson, who is not included in the credits for this issue.

Shrapnel #16, Lone Wolf and Fox
pg 145, 1st paragraph

"an Archer he'd painted in Lone Wolves blue and orange"

Issue:  The Lone Wolves have no set paint scheme.
Correction:  Remove "Lone Wolves" so it reads "an Archer he'd painted in blue and orange"

Issue 17, p. 125 "Violent Inception"

"5 FEB 3050"
Issue: No month abbreviations
Correction: Replace with "5 FEBRUARY 3050"

Shrapnel #17, "Wing" Wraith, pp. 67-69:

Problem: Technical Readout describes the placement of jump jets in three of four "Wing" Wraith variants, 3 criticals in the LL and 3 criticals in the RL. There are only 2 open criticals in each leg.

Solution: Redistribute the jump jets, either between the legs and torsos, or solely within the torsos. Note, TR7 described on page 70 does not have this problem because all jump jets are placed in the side torsos.

It should be LT/RT instead of LL/RL.

Shrapnel #2, "RPG Adventure Seeds: The Lost Division" p160-167

Problem: The RotS took Talitha in January of 3149 in operation SHOFAR (see map on p76 of Shattered Fortress). Therefore, this adventure, which takes place on a FWL Talitha in June of 3149, couldn't have happened then.
Possible solution: Change the date of the adventure to 3148, when the FWL still controlled Talitha. I have not checked if simply changing the date in this way would cause other problems.

Actually, that wouldn't work at all. The RPG module features Paladin Lakewood discussing the ongoing Operation ERUPTIO of 3149.

Shrapnel #18, "TECHNICAL READOUT: TDK-7Z THUNDER HAWK", p. 46

Problem: For the TDK-7XEM, the sum of the mass comes to 100 tons, but looking closer at DHS, 10 DHS do not have a mass of 1 ton. This variant should have 11 DHS like the other variants described in this issue, or it could have an extra ton of mass for equipment.

Potential Solutions: a) BEST OPTION: change DHS to 11 DHS (this is closest to the description of variants in the article)
b) WORST OPTION: a single ER Medium Laser was removed, but this could be reintroduced with the free mass (this contradicts the description in the article)

Shrapnel #19, p. 175

"In 3079, the Fifteenth, now largely equipped with Clan equipment they had bartered from the Wolf Empire..."

Issue: The Wolf Empire did not exist in 3079.

Correction: Replace "Wolf Empire" with "Clan Wolf."
