Got to do those cockpits in contrasting colour, to help them pop. Metallics are a low-effort way - try metallic red.

They'd be helped by basic flocking - a dark green grass, or light brown dirt, for more contrast.

I'm not sure when they began to use it, but they were using it at least since the Battle for New Olympia in 3139 when Bonfire of Worlds describes them with that scheme. Their new scheme can also be seen on the covers of TRO3145, FM3145, and the most recent edition of Bonfire of Worlds.

I used metallic blue for the cockpits, because I figured that would provide the most contrast with brown and orange. It might be that I needed more lighting when I took the photos.
