Shadow Hawk IIC with the classic -2R feel
« on: 09 December 2024, 00:23:31 »
Following on from the discussion in the Shadow Hawk IIC MoTW:

https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=86743.0

it seems there's a variant for almost every combat situation.

But there isn't one that really has that classic SHD-2R suck...uh, feel!

I wanted one, so I monkeyed around with the SHD IIC 2 and came up with THIS.

The left torso ERLL and left arm SPL are the only original weapons to remain.  Everything else should have a familiar feel to SHD lovers.
The ER LL will always give that solid 10-point hit, but as for the rest, I wanted that "equally ineffective at every range" vibe.

So, now I'm imagining people boxing up Overlords for loading as cargo.  "Nope, totally not a DropShip.  Everyone knows you can't fit a DropShip in a WarShip!  It's...a ten thousand ton box of marshmallows!  Yeah.  For the Heavy Guards big annual smores party."

...IS streak SRM2?

Anyway,  if you want the true 2R feel the following fits: LB2, SSRM2, LRM5, ERML, ERSL...

I'd have thought a Streak LRM-5 would fit...

Interestingly enough, I wouldn't have stuck the SRM on the head, because it's in the Torso on the IIC & your starting w/ that IIC baseline.

IIC-1 = RA MPL, RT-Streaks (Swap 1 for LRM-5), leave the ERSL in the head for a head gun.
IIC-2 = LT ERLL + LA-SPL

Basically taking the Right Side of the 1 & the Left Side of the 2, and dropping the CT Laser for the need for LRM ammo.
