Was discussing last, and I came up with a bit of a conundrum.
The Table on Page 54 of BMM and Page 60 of TW state that a Mech's pilot must make PSR to stay standing.
Now in the combat phase, this is done at the End of the Phase, be it either Weapon Damage Phase or Physical Damage.
But what about the Movement Phase? Is the PSR check made at the end of the Movement phase?
here is the conundrum:
EXAMPLE: An ATLAS AS7-K2 has a Movement of 4/6. As the rules for making a Standing Attempt Stilupates that a mech must spend 2 point of Movement per attempt, the ATLAS could make either 2 or 3 attempts to stand based on Walk/Run.
Lets postulate the ATLAS Pilot decides they want to run, and as luck is not going their way, the fail the first two Stand Attempts. Each time a Mech Falls, it takes damage equal to it's tonnage divided by 10 rounded up, so for the ATLAS that is 10 damage on each failed Attempt.
As a result the Mech is now up to our threshold of 20 damage to make a PSR or fall down.
So on to the question.
The Rules on Page 60 of TW and 55 of BMM only lay out two scenarios for PSR rolls for falling:
1: A movement Action (Standing, entering water, etc) in which case the roll is made immediately after performing the action.
or
2: a PSR from a weapon attack (hidden unit for example), the roll is made immediately.
But this hypothetical is neither.
Is the PSR is made immediately in the movement Phase - in which case it is moot as the Mech is already flat out on the ground or does the mech get to stand up again shakily on the 3rd stand attempt to then make another PSR and possibly fail and fall a 3rd time.
I'm thinking it's the 1st option, but the rules spell out this particular corner case.
