Let's keep it rolling! I don't want to have sing or dance on a LiveStream to get funds! :D

I'm in for $50 too.

Put me in for 50 as well.

We are at 575 as of this post
-
Count me in for USD$25, which takes the total to a nice and round USD$600.
-
Time out! I got to ask the dumb question. Is this for the 1R primitive with no srm 6 pack? Or the 3R that DID have the SRM 6 pack? Or will the final kit have the pack as a seperate piece?
I ask cause the preview during the polling phase showed the SRMs, but the beginning of this thread calls it the 1R
-
I have the SRM as a separate piece. You can build either one. (Speck mentions no additional variants but that's a pretty tiny difference.)
Dak
-
Good to know on the SRM. Between the 1R, 3R, 7H, my unseen, my reseen and the Classic, I might have a company by the time I get them all :-)

Dak
I just wanted to make super sure since the 1R has no SRM rack, opting for more armor and AC ammo.
-
We are still at 600 with 200 more to go.
-
I can chip in another $50, but my budgeting would be happier if I could make that in a second, later payment. As much as two weeks later, depending on when we call in the cash.
-
I'll do another $25 for a total of $50.
Although they are similar, I'm really wishing this was the new Classic Wolverine. The release schedule for the new Classic designs wants for a sense of urgency. Or my selfish wish, Blackwolf battle armor.
Just sayin'.

In for $50USD

Updated total, 725 now

I added your extra 50 in and we can work out the payment time frame when we know.
-
I can do $75
-
Who hoo! I think that does it!?
Thanks so much to all of you!
Dak
-
I'll be able to send my funds Wednesday. Will whoever (whomever?) is coordinating please post here so it looks official and then pm me their PayPal and any other relevant details?
-
On Tuesday evening I will get all of the PM's out with instructions. I have a conventions (Cold Wars in PA) this weekend and then the fun part of having my taxes done Monday evening so a little busy next few days.
-
That sounds hectic, Speck. Is there anything we could do to help? I really love what IWM does for the community at the cons. I'm not as much of a fan of taxes though.
If the money will eventually go to Dak, could we send the money to him and have him report the results to you, for instance?
-
Right now what will help is a post of forum names and amounts.

I have sent PM's to the first 10 people on the list. I will send to the last two tomorrow since I will not be online in a hour.
I have already add the Wolverine to the IWM QCC forum so the finishing touches can be done.

C-bills enroute via Comstar O0

Wohoo!
-
I have sent the last two PM's out this morning (was delayed by family invasion the last few days). I have also responded to the emails that I have received from people that have sent payment.
-
sent
-
Got mine in last night.
-
Just sent my payment in. I'm looking forward to this mech! O0
-
I will get acknowledgement emails out this weekend to the recent payments. Had some things going on last few evenings that I did not expect to take as much time as they did.
-
I'm checking in with this awesome gang! Proud to say the Primitive Wolverine sculpt flew through Quality Control on IWM's internal forum. Brent suggested that the 'rivets' on the shoulder armor plates should be 'innies' not 'outies' so I made that change.
Alas, the mini does have a lot of separate parts, mostly to ensure clean molding and allowing it to come out of those molds.
The parts breakdown is:
Torso, Antenna (on a block that inserts into the back of the head, should help prevent difficult glueing), two arms, two shoulder plates, pelvis, two pelvis hip plates, two legs, two knee plates, the AC cannon for the right arm, and the SRM box.
Sorry about all that, I know too many pieces can be frustrating but I've tried to make the glue joints as high of surface area as possible. The inner sockets are beveled to hopefully prevent flashing build-up too.
Just waiting on the word from Speck to upload the part files.
Best regards to all,
Dak
-
Thanks for the update Dak and congrats on passing QCC. Although it did not happen if there are no pictures ^-^
-
Congratulations, Dak!
-
That's awesome, Dak!
Edit: I like the many pieces, I think it makes them modular and lets me reuse them in kit bashes, so I buy more parts in the long run.
-
The plates don't bother me much. It's a little more filing with all the extra seams, but really it's stuff like the tiburons feet where all the pieces are structural that it can get frustrating. The srm box and ac barrel should be fine if they locate easily. Some minis, like the warwolf, have missile boxes that seem to want to sit at a funny angle as-cast. As long as the weapons don't naturally want to sit funny, no big deal. Doesn't sound too daunting really.
For all the plates and such, do you add little locating ridges or divots to help folks line them up, or are you more of a 'here are two flat surfaces, line them up how ya like' sort of designer? Also, post and hole on the main shoulder and hip joints, or ball and socket?
-
The shoulder plates have divots and pips to line up. The knee plates have a tooth that plugs into the knee, those might be a little fiddly. The shoulders are an elongated ball & socket, a semi-skilled modeler should be able to make them more poseable than they already are. The hips are a little weird, there's a slight flat spot at the top of the leg hip that will butt against the pelvis in addition to a beveled post and hole. They'll take a good bit more work to repose but it shouldn't be impossible.

Pretty O0
-
Oh yeah, that will be a breeze! I like that the basic structure is fairly simple and looks like it should be reasonably strong. Plus, most of the 'extra' parts look like they will be big enough to make mold line cleanup easy. I have bad memories of trying to clean up the little lasers for a Dragonfly variant that all had flash/mold-lines on them. And then there was the time I couldn't figure out where exactly to cut the antennae off the sprue for the Stag! Hoo boy did that turn out funny lookin'!
Anyway, this sort of reminds me of the primitive Thunderbolt or the Kodiak II. Lots of parts, but all pretty easy to work with and nothing really tricky to assemble. Currently, I only own a single Wolverine, but I look forward to making this guy #2!
-
The antena bit is going to be pretty tiny, but it should still be a step up from having to clip some piano wire to finish off the piece. O0
-
I'm too used to associating V-fins of that specific shape to anime, and I'm a long time Gundam builder. I'll use the wire for mine. Cant wait to get this mini though!

Just a update on voucher credit to the web store, I will have the emails sent out by next weekend.
-
I'm looking forward to any updates and pictures that can be released here.
-
Voucher emails have been sent out.

got mine!
-
Cheers and many thanks speck, now to place my order.
-
Thank you, Speck!
-
Digital files have been uploaded to Ironwind Metals. The ball is in their court now!
Appreciate the support from all of you.
Dak

Thanks for the update Dak, and thank you for your hardwork.
Any chance that us Fundicators get to see a render of the electronic files?
-
I hasn't really changed since my original image post:

(skip past the Dropbox login.)
The "dots" on the shoulder armor go inward instead of outward now, per Brent Evan's request.
Dak
-
So how do you get one of these?
Is it in the store?
-
They have to make the production molds and then schedule production before it'll show up as an online exclusive. I'm looking forward to this one for sure though.
-
IWM tries to get all of their online stuff cast by con season, so I wouldn't expect too much longer on this one.
-
Last I heard several pending Online Exclusives were going to be molded after the 2nd quarter releases. So they are most likely in process now.
-
Its on the Con release schedule.
-
Wohoo!
-
I bought a second one to do the 3R next. Went with paperclip wire and a bit of sprue for the head antennae piece.
-
That looks great! Nice job on the antenna. I may have to borrow that idea next time I need to craft something like that.
-
Cool!
I saw a Con pic of the new boxed set plastics featuring a weapon-flipped WVR, any connection here?
-
None. Just not a fan of v-fins on certain chassis.

And a 3R, just because I can.
