Design Quirk(s):
Difficult to Maintain
Stabilized Weapon (ER Medium Laser)

Very much a Ghost Bears design. Think a Kodiak on all fours, with a turret. The first quirk is there simply because, imho, the Ghost Bears take a somewhat dim view of ProtoMechs due to their inherent rapid wasting of good pilots, often before said pilots even get a chance to truly prove themselves. So it's less a fact that there is a lack of parts for them, quite the opposite, but more that there is a lingering lack of WANT in desiring to keep them maintained via the Clan's quartermasters. For that matter, the Rasalhagians aren't exactly enthusiastic about it either, again due to more or less killing a pilot in their mid-twenties when life spans could be 110+ and/or driving the pilot insane due to the medications needed to learn how to control a quad ProtoMech - as in, they're not all that happy about the potential of having one run rampant through a city or town before it's put down.

The second quirk is the Ghost Bears being pragmatic about being 'Clan Steiner' in always thinking BIG. So while it's not, quite, oversized, it is bulky enough to make for a very stable firing platform even while at a run, or at least, for the laser mounted in it's turret. The AP Gauss, buried partway in it's shoulder is however stuck with the fact that it has a very limited vertical swing arc, and every time the Nanook steps down with the leg the rifle is set next to, it jars it off aim slightly. Streaks though, are streaks, and make the accuracy degradation while walking or running a trivial matter.

It's something of an escort for heavy and assault 'Mechs in mixed Stars, where a pair of Nannok can make sure nothing is going to get behind the slower units the Bears prefer, or at least, not without being torn up pretty badly & slowed enough the heavier units have time to turn around and do what a very large, very angry, bear does best.

If I ever get it drawn (Plog. Definitely Plog), the outer armor is set over the myomer in such a way that it looks much like Inuit/Haida artwork (examples here) with dark lines of myomer muscle under lighter colored plates, and a hint of red in places whenever it uses its laser.
