Creating Combat Commands
« on: 09 June 2016, 04:20:26 »
Stupid newbie question I'm afraid:

I can't find the stats anywhere for 'template' or'standard' Formations.

As it stands, I think the only way I can make a formation is to use Alpha Strike rules, converted into Battleforce rules, converted into Strat Battleforce rules, converted into Interstellar Ops. Which means that I would have to individually create every single mech/tank/squad and make them into dozens of combined arms regiments numbering thousands of individual units. This is awesome to personalise things to include your favourite personal merc company or whatever, but clearly isn't how you would play a normal game.

I'm clearly missing an obvious 'this as a standard assault mech regiment stat line, this is a light infantry regiment stat line etc.' but for the life of me, I can't find it.

Can you guys point me in the right direction?

First Succession War has "standard formations" for all factions involved in the conflict, including remnant SLDF troops.  Standard formations for other eras are coming.  (I've already sent in one new set for publication).

Just to be clear - I'm trying to find the stats used in ACS for the formations/combat commands or whatever in order to be able to fight battles e.g. Alpha Strike stats are on Master Unit List, Battletech stats are in the relevant record sheets, so I'm look for the equivalent of ISaW so I can field the relevant armies of each great house and their supporting mercs.

Huzzah!

Just one question - where do I find that? Is it a PDF, a tech manual type thing? It seems that the rest of the battleteching community managed to find the info straight away, but I haven't been able to put my finger on it!

The print version hasn't been released yet, I don't think we've heard a street date yet?  But Randall has posted pictures of printer proof copies.

He's referring to the book First Succession War, which is available in physical(soon) and pdf form. The information you seek begins on page 170, and there is a page of default formations for every major faction of that era.

It is era-specific, but I suspect that future books converting other eras will include similar information.

Third Succession War era.  (It can even be used for 3039 as well.  Kurita's gift formations can use their 1st SW values).
