Tribble 557
Somewhere, sometime in the distant future, Above Terra aboard the Vengeful Spirit.
He was so tired, so spent, so devastated. In mind, body and spirit, his favored son, now no more than a dark shadow of what used to be his physical frame was on the far bulkhead where his last, and desperate, rage filled psychic blast had destroyed him completely that not even his soul remained. The 4 had knows that he would not use his full power against him, had known and used it against him. For as he he had barely used half his power the 4 had instilled in his son such power as to be his equal in that state.
"So much more to do, so much more to have been done, all.... wasted" Barely a whisper but enough that his loyal bodyguards could hear with there trans-human ears. "My lord?" the worry clear in his voice. He could also sens one of his other, Loyal, Sons nearing him but still far to late to help him. He knew he was done, all his plans for the future all but naught. He could hear the 4, there mocking laughter in the back of his mind and even in the Sea of Souls.
This would not be the end of him, no, but he had seen this eventuality and knew that only the eternal throne awaited him now, with its power he may be able to come back from this, but only if placed into it soon. He could hear his Son now, his loud footfalls easy for all to hear. Yes, with him near he would come back. "NO! We will not allow this" He felt the Sea swell with power, "what more could the 4 do to him now? They are spent, just as he, from powering his son against him" he though. "Oh we can do plenty, though we cannot finish you we can still be rid of you and no more shale you bother us here!" With that he felt the gathering power, he felt the 4 use up the last of there combined power. He used what little he had left to defend himself but they did not attack, no, far to late he realized just what they had in mind as there was a bright flash and he felt himself, as if water to a drain, slipping to somewhere .... else. He could just hear his son "Father! Nooooooo.....". He could just make out his sons figure running twords him. What will they do now? He wondered, as his mind went blank and felt his soul and body slip away into the warp and beyond.
Jumpship Alestro
June 4, 3015
New Earth
You could hear the screams down the hall as well as the doctor steadying them all in the micro-gravity. Why could this woman just hold on for just 5 more days until they landed on Earth! The doctor thought. They had no time to travel back ground-side and so were making the jump to Earth to ASAP to get proper treatment and delivery but no, the baby would not wait and suddenly, just as they got the 5 30 minuet warning the contractions had started.
"30 seconds to jump", the captains voice laced with a bit of worry for this passenger. Already he could feel the baby starting to come out despite his best wishes or the danger of giving birth mid jump, he would not abandon his duty's.
"just hold on, breath and push, breath and push" The woman gave me the death glare, "what do you think im doing!" in between clinched teeth and screams. Then just as the baby was about to take its first scream it happened, they jumped.
Normally a jump is supposed to be instantaneous, usually passengers feel like something between eternity and moments for the jump to complete but now, it felt like it went on forever. They could all hear... something in the background, snickering, arguing, maniacal laughter, they did not know but just as they thought they would be able to tell what it was the jump ended and they reentered reality with a bang. He barely had time to blink when he was tossed into a wall, the whole ship seemed to lurch and they could hear the ship creaking as well as a distant boom, probably the battery's dying he thought.
He looked down at his arms and the baby was, oddly, very quiet, just staring at him, with a very piercing gaze. He stared back for but a moment until he remembered about the mother, also oddly quiet but quickly found out why. She was against the far wall, head angled all the wrong way. When the ship lurched she had stayed where she was in the micro-gravity and the wall had slammed right into her head. At least it was quick the doctor thought solemnly. He looked down into his hands again at the baby protectively wondering what to do next.
just as the doctor looked down at him the second time He was coming back to a weak cognition and stared at the giant that was holding him. No this was no giant.. I am... tiny! He realized. He dipped slightly into the Sea and found it calm beyond measure and as the realization hit him that he was not where he used to be He thought to himself. In both sadness at what had been left behind but also in hope in what could be. "I will miss you my Sons and friends, luck to you. For that matter, luck to me as well" and with that last thought he resigned himself to the betterment of mankind in this reality.
This is my first real in depth though, can any of you figure out what or who I was talking about? Points for those who can and how do you think things would turn out this way instead? If you are still lost as to some of the characters just ask and I will answer.
