Great Caesar's Ghost, I thought you were waiting another ten years or so before posting.

Did you jump on the Kickstarter?

I did not, but in my defence, I've been busy! Two kids (four and two), promotion at work to manage our social media, buying a new house (which we moved into two weeks before the lockdown here), and building 1/72 scale model airplanes has been taking up most of my limited spare time. It's a natural transition from painting miniatures, since it accepts that you'll never actually get to play with them, you get to do research (fun), and they're a lot easier to airbrush.

Plus, my grotto is pretty sweet:

You do have a sweet grotto.  I moved out of my dungeon to an upstairs spare bedroom with my office.

Congrats on the kids to all.

Oh nice,  congratz,  I might have to pick this one up as I'm a fan of the Terran Corridor area.

So while digging through my plastics from the 25th Anniversary intro boxes, I've realized that the bulk of what's left would actually make a fairly decent early 3050s company for the Federated Commonwealth. But despite my time hanging out with this august crowd, I don't actually know that much about the AFFC. Can any of you recommend a unit whose colors I could use? (No yellows or whites, please.)

For reference, these are the mechs in question:

Zeus x2
Catapult
Jagermech
Quickdraw
Enforcer x2
Dervish
Whitworth
Spider
Valkyrie
Locust

EDIT: Forgot, something that served on the Clan front would be nice as well, please.

So out of curiosity, now many 3rd Crucis Mechs do you have painted up in 3CL colors?   ;D

No particular weight bias, so I'd avoid a group like the Assault Guards, Light Guards, or 1st Capellan Dragoons (which is a shame, their painst scheme is sweet), though the Heavy Guards could work, hey include some lighter elements.  1st Kathil Uhlans would be a good pick.  They're black with gold trim, is gold too close to Yellow for you?  The 1st Ceti Hussars feels like they'be your kind of unit, and they were on the JFOZ border for a while.

No, only two 'mechs.

I stopped demoing and switched my focus to some hobbies that are less dependent on other people's schedules, and sold them to fund 'em. I just took possession of a turret press for reloading my own 303 ammunition, which I'm pretty pumped about.

(No yellows or whites, please.)

That is a LOT of units that you just removed from the equation.

As mentioned the Ceti Hussars wouldn't be bad for colors.

Lots of regiments in the Donegal Guards so I'm sure someone was on the clan border at some point.

Robinson Rangers are Red and Black.
1st Kathil Ulhans are Black with Gold stripes.
Avalon Hussars are Grey with colored highlights.
Syrtis Fusiliers are Dark Green.

At this point, I'm most strongly considering the Second Crucis Lancers. I'll be like 3CL, but the decades-later prequel that nobody wanted!

Oh man, so am I to understand you got rid of 4 battalions of painted minis, and have only two left?  What did you keep?

Also just a curiousity:  did you take part in the Clan Kickstarter, or or you trying to stay away from the mini habit?
