I spent massive amounts of time trying to paint the timberwolf to the best of my capabilities and stressing over tiny details, and then I speed painted this Incubus in less than an hour total.

I think the real problem was they fiction basically skipped the entirety of the 3030s AND 3040s outside of the 6 months of the Wo39.

We got 2 Trilogies & some Single novels to go from 3024-3030.
Then 1 Book Jumps around & covers the previous years AND shoots us all the way to 3040 or so.
And BAM, then its 3049/50 & a new Trilogy.

Stackpole is on record saying that he tried to write the original red corsair set in 3004 but got told by ROC (Not FASA, ROC, the novel publisher) to move the timeline forward instead. Pretty much tied FASA's hands, and now we've been told succession wars doesn't sell as well as invasion and DA+ products.

Alpha Strike / Re: 'Mech destroyed result-then what?

The free Chaos Campaign: Succession Wars along with some AS specific rules that you can find in https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=69605.msg1615288#msg1615288.  the post covers destroyed versus truly destroyed.  The old Alpha Strike Companion had some more involved rules, with modifiers based on exact crits taken and other results.

If he´s being lead, it´ll be by Subhash Indrahar and Chandrasekhar Kurita. It could be much worse - they´re both loyal to the family and to the Combine, and on board with the reforms Minoru started.

Subhash is dead, died off-screen (during the battle for New Samarkand, IIRC). Ninyu is head of the ISF now, but your argument still stands.

Fan Designs and Rules / Finishing off the AC options for 3155
« Last post by Jeyar123 on Today at 15:38:11 »
Since the poll style of my PPC post isn't that great, I'll post this one most of a standard style. Finishing off options for the AC for 3155.
LAC/10 10 shots per ton, 4 crit, 7 ton, 3 heat per shot, 10 damage per shot, range 0/3/6/9 cost 225,000
LAC/20 5 shot per ton, 5 crit, 8 ton, 8 heat per shot, 20 damage per shot, range 0/1/2/3 cost 325,000
RAC/10 the same as above /10 but 9 crit, 14 tons, cost 425,000 cost and a piloting check for every 30 points of damage shot downrange, with an added +1 difficulty for each roll needed after a singe roll. (So you need 4 shots to require a piloting skill roll check)
RAC/20 the same as the above /20 but 12 crit, 16 tons, cost 625,000 plus the same added rules as the above RAC, so if you somehow shoot 5 Or 6 shots, that 100 or 120 damage shot downrange would require the firing pilot make 3 piloting skill rolls with a +2 difficulty.

The Inner Sphere / Re: Battlemech Distribution

Honestly it seems unlikely. Field Manual Updates indicates many bottom-tier line formations are lacking in even Star League tech. A brand new design seems extremely unlikely to show up on a FedSuns backwater world only a few years after its debut, & in the middle of the Jihad no less!

Certainly, if this is something you want for a named character in a campaign, it wouldn't be impossible to have happen, but it certainly would be seen as wildly unusual.

This is a very good answer.

One of the other things you might look at is modifiers for availability rolls.  I THINK the only thing that really does so in the timeframe you mentioned is from Combat Ops, and THAT is applied to weapons/tech/ammo- IE, target roll for a RAC if you are in the FS . . . the League . . . or things like Semi-G ammo.

Sometimes when we're playing a scenario where when unit dies and you go grab another, we leave the Dead Mech lying on the table for that cinematic feel.  There's nothing that requires it, but it does make for a fun photo op.

The only 'Official' thing in Gaslands is the rulebook.

So it just occurred to me.............   MWDA Vehicle Minis are just about the same size as Hotwheels/Matchbox?

Rubs hands together,  mwahahahaha

But I'd rather FASA had given us say, 150 years, to play out the succession wars instead of going straight from 3025 to the clan invasion in 25 years.

Yep, I agree, waaay to short

I know they wanted to keep things "big & splashy" to essentially bring back that lost SLDF army, but, I certainly wouldn't have minded if we got a couple more single novels.

Say, something covering the Skye Crisis of 3034/35 that delayed the Wo39 by 5 years.
Maybe a book dealing w/ the inner workings of the CapCon during Romano's Purges.
The Early/Mid 40's conflicts in the Dieron region as the FC/DC continued to jockey around for a few worlds, or maybe something like the Kell Hounds Ambergrist event.
Or the MAC on Marlette in the 40s
I also feel like there was also something about the Kathil Uhlans on the CC border in the 40's too, from a BT Mag article.

Point being, several of those would follow characters we saw in the Warrior Trilogy & could have made a few stand alone novels to give us some fleshed out stories from that 20 year period outside of 1 stalled out border clash that resulted in a total of less than 10 worlds change hands IIRC.

All of these have been done before, myself included for the Snubs, but the LERPPC may need some Min Range (a 2(?)) as it's otherwise too good.

HSNPPC needs to be 9t, simply because I don't like weapons weighing with a hanging half-ton.

They're otherwise ideal.
