Feldherr Storage Box/bag sizing
« on: 03 June 2022, 09:00:55 »
Anyone have any advice/suggestions on these?  Want to be able to store/ transport at least 100 units, but can’t tell if these are too small for heavy or assault mechs:  specifically the little foam holders that come with the boxes/bags.

If you're ordering from Aries, all the ones in the Battletech-specific section of Feldherr in his site include at least one tray with large sections, easily capable of handling any mech smaller than an Ares Tripod.

And if you're not sure, the description of each case details the exact measurements of every slot, so you can measure your own minis and see what's needed to fit them.

Thanks, I'll take a look.  These KS boxes aren't very efficient with their space--I think I'm going to grab some of these storage boxes for my rapidly growing mech collection.

The standard felfherr trays are too small for mechs. You need the larger ones.

Heard you loud and clear.  When my order comes in I’ll take some pics and let you all know how it fits.

I've been looking at these lately as a possible supplement to my battlefoam bag/trays.

I found this one and looks like it might work. It even has a picture with a few mechs in it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CYLZZ36/?coliid=I137CQ2N1Z6MKR&colid=3JH2H652Q9MVX&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Does anyone have this particular bag or trays?

@pheonixstorm I do have that bag and it works great. I also have a (cardboard) storage box from Feldherr with the same type of trays. The biggest mechs I have are an Atlas and King Crab and they fit well in the big trays.

I enjoy storing my mechs vertically in game plus trays. Not to take away from Feldherr which makes good product but I wanted to offer an alternative if Feldherr ends up being hard to get for some reason.
Alas poor Photobucket. I knew him Horatio, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy.

  • I paid for my Atlas by selling action figures.

I do vertical, too, using a combination of Games Plus and Army Transport trays (they're the same size, but GP are cheaper).

My friends that have large collections use mostly vertical storage for their minis, if that helps.
