I mean they can do some damage for sure but not as much as an SRM platoon or with the range of an LRM.  Being at mid range with infantry is just a recipe for disaster most times.  I could see them being used by particularly ill-equipped units maybe but SRMs are just so much better and play more to infantry's strengths.

Looking at the missle, I think it were meant to be an anti-battlesuit weapon. It's got very low crew requirements and isn't encumbering, so it's easier to build a platoon that can keep its speed up, while still getting range that's superior to the MG/SL/Flamer that was the main gun of most pre-Jihad suits. It's not about raw damage, it's about being able to wear down an Elemental without getting chewed up in return.

 I see them as more cheap anti-vehicle (jeeps, light weapons carriers, etc.) and anti-bunker weapons.  Basically somewhere between a LAW (but reloadable) and SRM.  Gives good standoff range and doesn't need advanced guidance other than "fly straight".

I looked in Tech Manual. Each shot is 5kg, and it very distinctly does NOT have the Disposable tag.

Per Errata page:

TechManual-v3.0-Infantry-Tables

MRM Launcher
(Non-Inferno Ammo) IS (D) Medium / Support (M) 2 0.53 30.0 kg / 5 kg (1) 1
(Inferno Ammo) IS (D) Medium / Support (M)F 2 0.26 30.0 kg / 5 kg (1) 1

Both have a Range of 2 ( or 6 hexes ) Standard do .53 ( or 1 damage each launcher ) and Inferno does .26 ( or you'll need three Troopers to do 1 full damage + fire ). Both weigh in at 30kg each and need 5kg per reload.

Basic 7-trooper Squad does 3.71 ( 4 points ) Foot / 1.82 ( 2 points ) Jump, times 4/3 ( 15 Foot  - 14.84) / ( 11 Jump - 11.13 )

 :facepalm: Despite myself, I'm appalled these don't look more like the infantry LRMs.

Maybe fudge up some alt stats? Throws two missiles per launcher, thus flushing the rack; Goes to four "infantry hexes," with a suitably ugly range table?
