Independence Weaponry on Quentin
« on: 30 August 2017, 15:01:55 »
What do we know about the current status of the Mech Production site in 3150?

Last I heard, the Kuritans were disassembling it as much as possible before ceding the world of Quentin to the Republic during its formation. Question: how much can you fully disassemble a mech plant? What might have been left?

According to MadCap's very useful (but not canon, I know) Objective Raids 3067, this plant produced a great variety of mechs.

Does anyone have any good information on Independence Weaponry in the current 3145-3150 setting?

Probably the same way you disassemble any other factory. The buildings are probably still there. The assembly line equipment was probably some of the first to go, the HVAC systems and water systems last and whatever point they got to when they had to stop.

So do we then believe that the Republic is producing no mechs there, at all?

And do we believe House Kurita was able to get those mech lines up and running elsewhere?

Thanks for the response, Kit!

most likely the various machine tools used for mech component production from there were used to repair and rebuild damaged factories elsewhere in Kurita space.

The Republic were producing at least the Peacekeeper there as of 3085.

According to Jihad: Final Reckoning, Independence Weaponry was setting up a new plant on New Samarkand. No details were available of what it was planned to produce, but I would imagine that it included relocating some of the lines from Quentin (eg Akuma)
