I'm doubting any merch will be made this season, butbim with you- if I see any, I'm grabbing it purely for my own amusement.
I think they already announced merchandise will go on sale within the next few weeks around the first preseason game so there's hope yet for the greatest potential t-shirt ever
I for one will proudly (and ironically) buy the shit out of t-shirts that say "Go Football Team" on them and I hope they keep the name forever.
Go Football Team generated a number of chuckles in the office today.  Much appreciated.

Kansas City Chiefs’ Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is the first NFL player to opt out of the season, saying Friday that he doesn't want to risk transmitting the virus just “to play the sport that I love.”

Well, the Jets pulled it off. They got Seattle to hand over 2 firsts, a third and a safety for Adams and a fourth. That seems way too much for a safety that will be expecting $15M a year soon.

Not coincidentally, he’s the only MD on an NFL roster.

That is some Pats level draft pick wizardry by the Jets.  Or Seattle is just idiots.

A combination of both, most likely.

I usually fault the team getting the player for overpaying. The Seahawks either believe they were a piece away from a title shot or are desperate to wedge open a closing window. Wizardry is usually just good scouting and understanding a player’s value in your system (admittedly this is a rare quality)

At least Herschel Walker type trades aren’t allowed any more

And the player I hope gets lots of playtime is now at the Panthers..... %D

Kaare Vedvik has been waived by the Bills and picked up by the Panthers, and been training punting and kicking (including FGs).

Hopefully he'll do allright there :D

If he gets lucky, he could be the second best European kicker ever.

If he could over his real game yips (anxiety/nervousness) he might turn into a decent NFL kicker. From I hear and see he looks great in practice, but when it comes to a real game he's not as good.

Yepp, so hopefully he's learned a lot in his year since his bad results last year.

Crap, Vedvik was cut from the Panthers.

Guess it's back to rooting for the Pats :(

Well, if the Chiefs keep playing like this it's going to be tricky to call who they take on in the Superbowl.  Solid play, LOTS of offense options, and another hot-stuff rookie in Edwards-Helaire.  My mother remains pleased with the football gods.

I'll admit I expected the games to look a fair bit uglier/less polished than they did today but I am pleasantly surprised at how well all the games I watched looked.

Seattle/Atlanta both looked pretty tired by the end though but even then it was a better game than I had expected.

bill and cam should win that division. will probably come down to what the bills and pats do head to head

meanwhile i can report from watching the game that aaron rogers is indeed back to regularly doing aaron rogers things. there were four throws in that game that were absolutely filthy

I'm a Lions fan, so things like football leagues and championships and "cultures of winning" are irrelevant and meaningless in many, many ways.

But I'm still glad football's back.

As a Lions fan, the best thing I've read so far is this WSJ title: The Year 2020 Is Already Sideways. So Let’s Just Pick the Detroit Lions to Win the Super Bowl

I can't see behind the paywall, but the title made me laugh. I'm not sure the Lions winning the Super Bowl would be the strangest thing to happen this year...

Being in the time zone I am I can't watch the late games :)

But we get, what, 5 games a week here. Monday Night, Thursday Night, and 3 on Sundays.

I tend to watch the first two (or most of the second anyways) on sundays.
