Title: 2012-08-07 Bat Out of Hell [Scenario]
Post by: roosterboy on 07 August 2012, 03:33:03
A deep-space pirate battle!

When two sides square off in the cold depths of space, with fighters and DropShips, will anyone survive?

Yeah, I like the scenarios.
It#s cool with the Special Rules.

Interesting! Seems a little lopsided to me, though. The Nighthawks outnumber the Pirates two-to-one, one of the pilots gets a bonus to attack the commander, and the whole force gets a +3 initiative bonus at the start of the game? Plus the fact that the real firepower of the pirate group is likely to quickly surrender...what exactly is the pirate player supposed to do?

The upgraded (3057) Overlord is a fearsome monster. In this scenario, the pirate fighters should probably seek to keep close to the Overlord which in turn should seek to bash the enemy at long range. Generally, the pirates seem to have a slight range edge over the attackers.

Which version of the Hammerhead is the WoB guy supposed to fly, a HMR-HD (AC/20) or a HMR-HF (LB-X10, 2 ERML) which is a known WoB variant? The designation given is "HMR-HD Hammerhead F". With a gunnery skill of 1, he should give the attackers headaches in any case.
